CHAPTER 13: SURPRISING RIDES

1549 Words
Nox’s POV "If I see you as much as smile at anyone, let alone kiss or fvck, then I will stuff that person's corpse down your throat," Xayden growled before shoving our bags into the backseat and climbing into his black Bugatti Veyron. "Understood ?" He asked through the rolled-down window, his sunglasses making him look hotter than the sun and his casual wear making me want to press myself to his tight abs. If only he was not a flipping pretty-looking cupcake of the nastiest flavour. Sigh ! "Go and fvck yourself," I raised both my middle fingers. Xayden frowned and almost smashed his teeth with how hard he clenched his jaw. However, I was the one who was at high risk of blood pressure as I burst with fury. The infuriating thing hit the accelerator without a word and whizzed away in his sleek toy, leaving me behind in our pack !! "Want a ride, Beta Canning ?" Rhys grinned as he stopped right in front of me on his two-wheeler beast. I smirked and hopped on. Soon enough, Rhys was contemplating every decision of his. "AAAAHHHHHH NOXXXX !!" He screamed from the back. "You're supposed to fly in a plane to the conference, not fly my bike there !!!!" He yelled as he held on to me for dear life. "You're screaming in my ear," I complained, unfazed by the Gamma's complaints. "You're evil !" He shouted against the wind. "No. I am Nox," I shouted back and took a sharp turn that had Rhys sinking his claws in my chest as we almost touched the ground on one side. "Did you just fvcking moan, Nox ?" Rhys asked, shocked. It was a good thing that he couldn't see my siren-red cheeks under the black helmet. I quickly shook my head and raised my middle finger at the chuckling man behind me. As much as Xayden was an asshole, I felt like I was betraying him already, especially when he specifically asked me to stop fraternizing with others, before leaving me behind in a cloud of dust. It was a fair request, though he could have worded it politely and taken me along with him in the car. Fvcking s**t of a mate. Xayden’s private jet was already whirring its engines and it seemed like it was ready to take off any moment even before closing its door ! A glance towards the cockpit’s window helped me solve the mystery as to why that was the case. The effing pilot seemed ready to leave me behind in the airport as he had done back in the pack land. Knowing my Alpha damn well, I knew he wouldn’t make my entry easier and my suspicions came true when the plane slowly started turning its wheels to move. “OH SHIIIITTTT !! NOX, NOOOOO !” Rhys screamed all the way up the airstairs to the plane, his notes of yelling hell violently shaking as we hit every bump on the stairs before the screaming came to a dead stop inside the cockpit. “You are paying for my life insurance, Beta,” Rhys huffed as he took back his keys and glared at me. I chuckled and swung my leg. Rhys playfully grabbed my neck from behind and let his long, heavy fingers press upon my skin. Ah ! Massage !! Using his grip on my neck, he tucked me beside him and didn’t remove his hand while sitting on his bike. Xayden turned around from the pilot's seat and his eyes widened when he saw me and the bike in his clean, luxurious ride. Surely, the OCD freak was freaking out about the amount of dirt in his space, me included, of course. However, what really set him off, was the presence of the Gamma still holding me so tenderly by the neck. "How dare you give the Beta a ride, Gamma ?" Xayden growled. It was evident that his anger was directed at both of us from the sight of his glowing eyes, but a special kind of fiery glare was reserved for the Gamma's hold on me. "Don't Gamma him, Xayden," I snapped. "If you were not a d*ck, he wouldn't have to give me a ride in the first place," I replied, annoyed, while Rhys put some distance between us. Xayden’s eyes immediately returned to their gorgeous blue and he clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Tsk. Brat. I don't even know why I am taking this useless piece of s**t with me," he murmured under his breath as he turned back to the control panel and turned on a few buttons. Apparently, I heard the whole thing and blew off my top. As much as I wanted to punch my dipshit mate square in the face and kick his balls, I had the decency to control myself in front of Rhys. However, that didn't stop the choicest words from coming out of my mouth. "I don't see why this 'useless piece of s**t' needs to accompany your stinky butt either. I would rather go back with Rhys and let him hump my brains out !” I turned around and pushed Rhys to the back of the bike, took the keys from him and assumed control of the driver’s seat again. The moment the bike purred to life, the Alpha lost all his cool. "GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE, CANNING, UNLESS YOU WANT IT SPANKED RED," Xayden roared and I couldn’t figure out who was shocked the most- Rhys or me. However, Xayden was not the one for sure. He was practically glowering at me. Like hell that could intimidate me into submission. "Yes, it can," Bolt squeaked and I rolled my eyes at my feral counterpart. For the millionth time, I questioned myself if he wasn't supposed to be a human and me, his wolf. The Moon Goddess surely made a lot of mistakes when she made me, my wolf, my mate and my destiny. Sums up pretty much everything that she was supposed to do, she did it high or I was just her enemy. "Get off the bike, Nox, before I lose my temper for real," Xayden glowered and used his Alpha command on me to submit to his bidding. Fine ! He wanted me off my bike, then that is what he'd get. So, just to be an ass, I thrust the keys back into Rhys's hand and plopped down in the Alpha’s lap with my arms around the latter's neck. "What the hell are you doing ?" Xayden muttered with narrowed eyes. I swear the man would have flashed me with red glowing eyes if he could, if his flaring nostrils were any proof of his seething anger. Smiling at him as innocently as the day I was born, I cuddled into him and whispered in his ear, "Making myself comfortable for the hellish journey with the man who prematurely marked me...mate," I teased and rested my head on his shoulder. I peeked a look up at Xayden’s face and he was pink all over. I couldn’t tell if it was the rage, shock or embarrassment that was colouring his handsome face. However, one thing was clear. He could rock a blush better than a virgin bride too. Damn, the Moon Goddess made so many mistakes. She made such a gorgeous creature but with a rotten heart. "Ahem ahem," Rhys fake-coughed. "I should get going. Umm goodbye and have a safe journey. Let me know if you need something," he said and didn't even wait for any one of us to reply before he turned tail and practically fled away. Traitor. The Goddess only knew how true that was, but that was not my concern right now. Suddenly, I felt my stomach flare up in excruciating pain and I felt my insides churn in every twisted way possible. I shrieked in the Alpha’s lap and Xayden quickly pressed a button, prompting an air hostess beside us within seconds. “Alpha ! How may I help you ?” The female vampire asked. “Please show Beta Canning to the good old doctor on board,” he ordered. “And just to be clear, he needs a general physician and not a psychiatrist. Seems like the Beta has a weak stomach for flights, although I don’t mind if he gets his head looked at too,” he smirked and dumped me on the floor. "When will you stop acting like a jerk ?" I gritted out from the floor, a hand around my heating stomach. "Mhmm let me think." And that man actually thought for a while with a finger tapping his chin before he finally tested my short-fuse patience and answered, "Probably never." That's what I was afraid of. And that is when I blacked out for good. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
