They both laughed. Marcia, however, was aware that her father was looking at the Duc as if he thought that he should have been at her side. He was, however, as she expected, talking to the beautiful Marquise. She was obviously determined to out-gown every other woman in the room as she was wearing a dress of vivid pink that accentuated the whiteness of her skin and the darkness of her hair.
