The Alphas Mate

Chapter 12 night came

Rick's P.O.V

  The night came fast and I was restless, I got out of bed and started to walk around. I wanted to explore the pack house, I had already seen the office, so I walked past it and ended up in front of a room with chairs and couches, this must be the living room. I walked further inside and saw a girl playing a game, I sat down on the couch to watch. She must have sensed someone watching her, because she turned around startled, causing me to chuckle.

  "I'm sorry, I'm new here, I was just looking around and I saw you playing the game, so I just set down and started watching, I didn't mean to startle you." I said, trying to make her feel more at ease with my presence. She put the remote down on the table, walked over and sat down in a chair that was beside the couch.

  "What is your name?" She asked me, crossing her legs.

  "It's Rick, what's yours?" I replied, smiling at her.

  "It's Maggie, I'm the gamer in the pack, well that's what they say." Maggie replied, laughing which caused me to chuckle too.

  "Well it's nice to meet you, Maggie." I said, smiling and holding my hand out.

  "It's nice to meet you too, well since you're here, I'll give you a tour of the rest of the house." Maggie replied, smiling and shaking my hand.

  "Alright I would like that." I said, nodding. We both stood up from our seats and she gestured for me to follow her. We walked for a bit and then stopped.

  "Well as you can tell, this is the kitchen, if you want to cook your more then welcome to." Maggie said, I nodded and then she showed me around the rest of the house. Maggie showed me the dining room, the laundry room, she showed me where the Omega's house was and where they stayed, she showed me where the guards stay as well, then the pool room and then lastly her room.

  "I'm not mated yet, if that's what you're wondering, but I'm waiting for him, I'll be 18 tomorrow, I'll be shifting into my wolf and they say that's when you find your mate." Maggie said, kind of excited about tomorrow and I nodded. 

  "Well if you want we can still go inside and watch a movie. I promise I'll keep my hands to myself." I chuckled, holding my hands up to her.

  "It's alright, come on let's go watch a movie." Maggie said, giggling at me, she opened her bedroom door and I walked in taking a look around. There was a couch on the side of the left wall, a chair beside it, a flat screen tv was mounted on the wall and underneath it was a surround sound system with so many game consoles and games to play.

  "You are a true gamer." I chuckled, sitting down on the couch. 

  "What movie do you want to watch?" I asked her, she thought for a moment, 

  "How about the craft or Practical Magic or if you're into scary movies, how about the Nun or IT?" Maggie said, reeling off movie titles. 

  "I didn't think IT was a scary movie, the original IT was better than the remake." I said, laughing.Maggie nodded in 

  "Agreed, let's watch the craft." Maggie replied, grabbing the remote off the arm chair, she put the TV on, then put on netflix, again I started laughing and she turned looking at me

  "This isn't netflix and chill chill, this is netflix let's watch a movie chill." Maggie said, she thought for a moment on what she had just said and we both started laughing. I smiled softly at her, I was glad I could find a new friend. I knew we were mates, but she wouldn't know that until she had shifted tomorrow for the first time and if she doesn't smell my scent, then that would be ok too. I wouldn't force anything on her, she seemed sweet and very kind. I loved to hear her laugh, it was like I had known her forever. She sat back and found the movie The Craft, then hit play, the movie Begin and we sat back to watch it, but before I knew it, she was cuddled up in my arms, watching the movie. 

  "What an ass hole." Maggie suddenly blurted out causing me to jump. I looked back at the screen and saw that the guy was trying to pin the girl on the ground to have his way with her. I looked at the clock and realised it was 12:30 am, the movie was about to end. Should I get up and leave to go back to my room? All I could think about is how I loved holding her. 

  "Will you calm down, If she wants you to leave, then she will tell you goodnight." Jordan said, mind-linking me. I had completely forgotten that my mind was wide open to the Alpha and Luna. I chuckled to myself and the movie ended, with the girl lying in a bed screaming that she could fly now and the nurse had to give her a shot to calm her down. Maggie didn't make a move to get up, I thought she was asleep, I looked at the clock again and it was 1:30 in the morning. Suddenly Maggie started to scream and writhe in pain.

  Maggie's P.O.V

  I was enjoying Rick's company, I wasn't sure if he was my mate, but he sure paid attention to my every word I said and I loved how he held me while we watched the movie. We cracked a couple of jokes, then settled in to watch the movie The Craft, when it finally ended it was a little past 1:30. I felt so comfortable there, I was scared to even move, as I didn't want him to leave just yet, I felt so safe in his arms. Suddenly I felt like I was on fire, what the hell is wrong with me? My bones felt like they were breaking and I screamed out in pain, making Rick jump. I fell to the floor, begging him to 

  "MAKE IT STOP! PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!" I begged Rick, my arms turned and shifted, as my bones broke to help with the shift, I didn't like the feeling of my legs shifting, as my bones broke and twisted. I closed my eyes, fearing that the pain wouldn't go away, when I finally opened my eyes once more and I was looking at Rick. 

  "You're beautiful Maggie, go look at yourself." Rick said, smiling down at me. I walked over to my full length mirror and looked, I was an all brown wolf, with dark brown eyes and on one of my paws was a single black spot, it was cute I guess. Alpha Jordan and Luna Violet came running into my room, they must have felt a shift in the pack and knew right away that it was me.

  "Your beautiful Maggie." Luna Violet said, smiling at me. I walked back over to Rick and he pulled his shirt off, handing it to me. I took it in my mouth and walked to the bathroom, to shift back into my human form. It didn't hurt as much as shifting, but it was still quite painful. I placed the shirt over my body, when suddenly I smelt a wonderful smell, it was the scent of pine and mint. I walked back into my bedroom and my eyes immediately landed on Rick.

  "Mate." I said, those were the first words to come out of my mouth after I had shifted. Rick smiled from ear to ear, he held his arms out toward me, I walked over to him and his arms wrapped around me, holding me tightly.

  "Mine." Rick whispered, Jordan and Violet smiled.

  "Let's leave them alone." Violet said, walking out the door and shutting it behind them.

  Rick's  P.O.V

  It felt amazing having her in my arms, I knew she was tired from shifting and I knew I was beat, as it was 3am in the morning.

  "Let's get some sleep." I said, she nodded and I went to leave her room and go back to mine, as I didn't want her to feel rushed, but she grabbed my hand and walked me towards her bed. We climbed into her bed and she lay in my arms, I held onto her tightly, not wanting to ever let her go.   

  "Good night love." I said, she kissed my cheek and fell asleep, but before I could even close my eyes, I got a mind-link.

  "I'll be there tomorrow night, make sure that b***h is gone, he will be mine." Tally told me and I rolled my eyes at her, not that she could see it.

  Tally, can you at least link at a reasonable hour, I'm trying to sleep." I replied, trying to push her buttons again. Why does this woman always link when I'm either in the shower or just about to sleep?

  "You can sleep when you're dead, make sure she's not there, make sure she falls and doesn't get back up." Tally growled and I rolled my eyes again. 

  "Tally if you want her dead do it yourself, I'm tired, let me sleep." I snapped back at her.

  "Fine, I will, you just remember one thing, you are a rogue and I'll throw you back out once I'm his Luna." Tally growled again and the link ended

  "Did you hear that?" I said, mind-linking Jordan.

  "Yes we both heard it and we are ready for her, get your sleep, tomorrow is another day." Jordan replied to me, I closed my eyes and drifted off into a peaceful sleep next to my mate
