Unpleasant Surprise.

Reluctantly, she raised the phone to her ear. “Hello” Paige almost whispered. She heard a low, dangerous voice on the line almost growl “You violate a direct order from your Alpha, then screen his calls when he calls you? Do you have a death wish, human?” He demanded angrily. Paige sucked in a breath before responding “I... I didn’t know the number was yours, Alpha.” She pleaded. Silence. When he said nothing, Paige continued calmly. “Had I known, I would have accepted the calls, of course, Alpha.” After a few moments she heard the voice again. “Why did you not do as you were told?” He asked calmly with a hint of annoyance. “You did not give a time, Alpha, and I wasn’t quite sure...” Paige was cut off by his angry voice on the other end of the line “I do not care for your excuses at this time. I am on my way back to the pack-house from a meeting... I expect you in my office upon my return. If you are not there, you can be sure that I’ll be the one making you regret it.” He said in a chilling voice.“Do I make myself clear?” Paige looked at her phone briefly, then pursed her lips, taking a deep breath. “As you wish, Alpha” she responded in an even tone.. “Click” The call ended and Paige's heart began to race as she immediately sprinted towards the Pack house. Arriving at the pack house forty minutes later sweaty and out of breath, Paige walked through the large iron gates, taking in the five-story mansion, trying to recall the last time she had been there. In all honesty, she’d only ever been here a handful of times in her life. Being the only pack member without a wolf hardly required her to be involved in pack business. Paige wondered through the front double doors to find the pack Gamma, Reyes (Gabby’s father) on his way out. When he saw her, he paused, clearly surprised. “Paige?” he asked in a concerned voice. “What brings you here?” Paige felt a little awkward thinking about how to respond. “Oh, uh, the Alpha asked to see me” she fumbled her words as she tried to explain. His brows knitted together, and he gave her a puzzled look before responding. “Fifth floor, last door on the left.” He said, gesturing to the stairs. She nodded her thanks and slowly began to climb the stairs. Reaching the fifth floor, she made her way down the empty corridor. This was it, she thought. This was how she died. It's not like she hadn’t thought about the fact that the alpha might get tired of having a human in his pack and just end her life one day. When Paige reached his door, she paused, raising her hand hesitantly knocking twice before she heard his muffled response. “Enter.” Opening the door, she walked into the large room with luxurious European décor, marble floors, a mahogany four-poster king-size bed with black silk sheets. Paige looked around, only now realizing that this was the Alpha's private bed chambers. She suddenly felt nauseous. This was definitely not his office. Silently cursing Gamma Reyes, she started backing towards the door when, abruptly, Alpha Damien walked out of his closet wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around his tan muscular hips. Oh god… She froze, taking in his appearance. His broad muscular chest was a natural olive tone. A solid sleeve of tattoos covered his thick muscular arm and what appeared to be vines wrapped over the front of his shoulder trailed down one side of his chest. As her eyes followed the tattoo, she noticed both of his n*****s were pierced. Her eyes widened, and she automatically turned her back to him. The thought suddenly occurred to her that he hadn’t seemed alarmed or even bothered by her sudden appearance. He hadn’t seemed surprised to see her standing there at all. At the thought, Paige suddenly decided it’d be safer to wait outside and took a step towards the door. “Did I say you could leave?” She heard him ask in a low, even tone. Paige stopped mid-step, balling her hands into fists. She should have left when she had the chance... She thought to herself. Or rather, she should have never been in this room at all. Slowly she turned back around and was startled to find him right in front of her, with a smirk playing on his boyish features. His eyes narrowed, and he raised a brow, resting his hands on his hips. Paige stared at him blankly before swiftly turning her head to the side to avoid the scenery, before finally responding. “No, Alpha” she stated in a sullen tone. “Look at me when I speak to you” he growled. Paige reluctantly turned back to look at him, unable to keep the resentment out of her eyes this time. She noticed he now had an evil glint in his eyes. “Good girl” His gaze suddenly turned heated, and his eyes began to move down her body like before. Paige looked down, attempting to mask her anger, and said through gritted teeth “Alpha. I didn't realize this was your private quarters. If you’d be so kind as to point me in the direction of your office I w..” “On your knees” his husky voice interrupted. Paige jerked her head up to meet his heated gaze, then slowly began to panic. Alpha Damien's eyes were now black, indicating his wolf was currently pushing for control. This was not good. For whatever the reason, he seemed to be having trouble controlling his wolf. If his beast took control, there was no telling what might happen, but she did know, either way, she would likely not leave here alive. “On. Your. Knees” Alpha Damien's voice was now almost animalistic, as he appeared to be trying to influence her with his alpha aura. This, of course, had no effect on a werewolf with no wolf. Paige dug her nails into her palms until she drew blood, standing her ground, without saying a word. His face then darkened as he closed the distance between them, and roughly grabbed her chin, raising his other hand to strike her when he suddenly stopped, closed his eyes and sniffed the air. His grip on her face tightened to the point that she felt he might crack her jaw. Alpha Damien opened his coal black eyes and Paige heard a low rumble emanating from his chest before he slowly turned his head, giving Paige a look of pure animosity. “So, that’s why you violated my command this morning” he growled angrily, before throwing Paige against the wall. Her back hit the wall with immense force, and she winced as a sharp pain shot through her spine before falling to the ground. She slowly pushed off the floor and started to stand just in time to see him move across the room at an unnatural speed, tossing his table like it was nothing. It hit the wall and shattered into pieces before he turned back on Paige. “Because you were whoring around with other wolves!” he spat as Paige got to her feet.
