Chapter 52 A Moment for Us *** *** Louise By the time Tye and I returned to my house, it was late afternoon. The sun was behind the growing clouds, sending shadows over the ground. It was almost time for school to finish. Raine and Jo would visit to check on me and fill me in with the latest schoolyard gossip. I hadn’t seen them since the battle took place. “Well, I’m glad that visit is over with,” Tye said, reaching for my hand. I took it without a second thought. His skin was tough, but his hold was tender. He had never held me like that when we were kids. If anything, he avoided touching me. But I knew why. He loves me! And he has loved me since we were kids! “Same,” I agreed. But secretly, after seeing Joseph, I had stirred something in my chest. I had to ignore it. He was not my mate—not now, and I had already wasted too many tears on the idea that he was. “I hope the weather is nice the night of our bonding ceremony…” Tye said, drawing me back from my troubled thoughts. The ceremony—in a few days, I would be united with Tye for the rest of my life! That thought, as considerable as it was, for some reason, excited me. I was nervous. There was no denying that. But before the kiss from Joseph at the party, I had never kissed a boy, let alone given my body to one. And after the ceremony, that was what I was expected to do. How do I do that…? Now, the nerves were rearing their ugly heads. “Louise?” Tye asked, stopping outside of the door. “Y-yeah…” I stammered, facing him. All my muscles had tightened. He held our link hand before us. “Is everything alright? You’re cutting off the circulation to my hand.” My knuckles had gone white. I realised I was gripping him tight and quickly relaxed. “I’m sorry…” “Are you nervous about the ceremony?” He asked, kissing our joined hands. “Because I would understand if you were…” “Err…” I chewed on my bottom lip. “Are you?” Chuckling, he reached over and ran his thumb over my lips. It made an aroused shiver flitter through my chest. “I can’t tell you that… It will ruin my Gamma cred…” He winked at me. It relaxed me further. “But I mean, it’s normal to feel nervous. We’ve known each other since before we can remember… we know each other better than we realise.” I opened and closed my eyes slowly, then focused on Tye. That was true. We did know each other well. But as I pictured pulling his singlet over his head, revealing the muscles beneath, the nerves returned. I swallowed a breath I didn’t know I was holding. Tye leant closer, breaching the gap between us. His eyes had started to lighten to a deep green-gold. “We could always get a little us time in now … it would make the ceremony night less nerve-racking…” He winked at me and sent my heart racing. A bird flew overhead, startling me. I stepped back, my heart rattling, and reached for the door handle. “We should discuss this inside… By the sound of it, we have the place to ourselves…” “So, it’s just us two…?” He raised an eyebrow. Now, his eyes were a brilliant orange. “Yep…” Tye swept me into his arms the second I closed the door, holding me against his chest. “Wow,” I gasped, clinging to him for safety. My heart leapt into my throat. I peered up at him, trying to calm myself. “You could have warned me…” “Where’s the fun in that?” He laughed, kissing my forehead. Without struggle and with a finesse that amazed me, Tyrone carried me into the lounge room. He slid me back onto my feet in the centre of the room and then faced me. “What are you doing?” I giggled, pressing my hands to his chest. “Helping with those nerves…” A mischievous glint flickered in his eyes as he brought his lips closer to mine. “Something we both need...” He breathed as he pressed his lips to mine. My thoughts froze. My mind went blank. All I saw and felt was Tyrone. Tyrone groaned as I ran my hands down his chest, feeling the accentuated lines of his muscles through the thin material. It sent tingles through my body. My thighs grew weak. Suddenly, my nervousness vanished. I wanted to feel all of him. What was he done to me? “Louise,” he panted as our lips parted. “I admit, I was nervous too… but with you…” He kissed a path from my lips across my jaw. “It feels so right…” That sensual ach he had stirred this morning returned, clawing at my insides. My mind could focus on nothing more than Tye. “Tye…” Growling from his chest in a way that could have been mistaken as a purr, Tye grabbed my thighs and lifted me. I wrapped my legs around his waist, hooking my arms behind his neck. His heart raced against mine, echoing the same arousing tune. He lightly kissed my neck, sending a wave of desire through me. His tongue found my skin, licking a path down to my collarbone. I wanted to take him to my room and finally have all of him. “Tye, I’m ready...” I could feel his smile on my cheek. “It’s only a couple more days… We have to wait.” He placed another kiss against my neck. “But at least now, you know you don’t have to be nervous... It comes so naturally between mates.” “That’s so unfair!” Sighing disappointedly, I unwrapped my legs and stood before him. His arousal pressed hard against the front of his pants – a sign he wanted me just as badly. “I think I need a cold shower...” He ran his hands through his hair and then kissed my cheek. “I’ll head out the back door... but I’ll see you in a few hours...” I watched as he ran for the backdoor, stripping as he went. His sculpted butt cheeks flashed before my eyes as he tied his clothes around his ankle. My face was suddenly on fire. He opened the door, and his wolf exploded free. “Bye, Maitea ...” I called over to him. He peered at me with bright orange eyes before taking off. Giggling to myself, I closed the door behind him. It was getting harder to control myself around him. That must be a sign!
