Chapter Thirteen Paris and Morainvilliers, France Adhara woke first, leaving Angel to catch up on much-needed sleep. By the time she had showered, dressed, and adjusted her hair, she thought it high time to wake him. Having ascertained that he hadn’t dreamt the previous day’s revelations, he quickly prepared for the day ahead. From the shower, he called, “I think we should go to the Sacré-Coeur. It’s one of the most popular tourist spots and stands at the highest point in Paris.” She agreed and, over coffee and croissants, surprised him by saying, “The Sacré-Coeur was conceived to expiate the sins of the Communards whose excesses were concentrated at that place.” Angel looked appraisingly at her. “I’m only a footballer. Evidently, you are the brains of this couple.” She glared at him.
