Robin pulled up to the curb outside my apartment. I looked over to smile at him. “Thank you for the ride."
Robin smiled back. It was a new kind of smile on him; it had his normal confidence, but also incorporated a new dreamy quality that I found utterly adorable on his handsome face. “Don't worry about it, Jessica," he assured me. “I'll see you soon."
I felt my smile grow. “Yes, you will," I agreed.
I leaned over and gave Robin a quick kiss before getting out of his car. I watched him drive away and felt a sense of absolute victory settle over me.
I'd done it! I'd gone up to the man I couldn't have, the man everyone wanted, and I made him mine!
