Rosalia's POV: “It.. can’t be. I won’t accept that. I can’t.” My words run together and I can feel the tremors shaking me from head to toe. Tremors that are strong enough that they rock the foundations of the earth underneath us. “No. no, no, no. Please tell me it’s not true.” Beside me, Hunter notices my shaking and pulls me into his arms in a sideways hug. I lean into his side, trying to draw strength from his nearness the way I’ve done time and time again but it doesn’t work the same way this time, as if the pain’s too raw. Too real. Too immediate. Shaking slightly I can feel tears but no sounds come this time. It’s like someone’s pressed a mute button on my hearing, I couldn’t hear anything. “Roe?” Hunter’s hands on mine snap me out of my head and I look up at him with teary eyes.
