WHY AM I HERE AGAIN?
“Wait for me!”
“Luciel…?”
She’s exactly in the same place she always sees in her dreams and this is the tenth time in this month. She looked at the four kids in front of her and there’s this kid who really caught her attention.
The kid’s hair is white as pure snow and his eyes are way bluer than the ocean. He looked so beautiful, as he flapped his shiny white wings as he flew.
He looked so happy with his four companions—two boys and a girl. The other kid looked exactly like him but the difference is that, the other kid is blonde.
They looked so happy while they were playing. When they came out from the clouds, they suddenly became adults. They just looked so happy while they were still playing.
The kid she saw, now in his adult form is smiling so pure, innocent, and full of happiness that can make everyone’s heart skip a beat. His warm smile could ease your worries away. That’s how beautiful he is
“Serenity!”
This time, she could see the angel who looked exactly like Luciel, looking all b****y on his white robe as he extended his hand, as if he was trying to grab someone—or more like, he was trying to grab her. His left arm was pierced with a red arrow and she could see how b****y and pained he looked right now.
She could see him crying as he kept on saying words that she couldn’t comprehend. She extended her hand to hold him but she paused mid-air when she also saw how b****y her hand and arm were.
“Serenity!”
She gasped when she felt herself falling… falling from the sky.
“Serenity!”
Romina immediately gasped and flinched as soon as she opened her eyes. She immediately sat up and looked at her right hand. She kept on turning her hand as if she was examining it if there was blood. When she realized that there was nothing, she sighed and held her head because she felt her head and temples pounding, a sign that she was having a slight headache. “That dream felt so real.”
She paused for a second when the memory of the angel who looked exactly like Luciel flashed in her mind. From the moment she saw him as a kid, as a teen, and the moment he saw him outstretching his hand as if he’s trying to catch someone. “Why am I always dreaming of Luciel’s twin, Sachiel?”
Wait… that’s not it.
“Why…” she muttered. “Why I keep on dreaming Luciel as an angel?”
He’s a demon, right? So how come I kept on dreaming about him as an angel?
She flinched when she heard a knock on her door. She looked at it and spoke. “Lu-Luciel, is that you?”
“You’re awake then,” she heard him from the other side of the door. “Your mom asked me to call you so we could have breakfast.”
“Oh. Oh, okay. I’m coming. Let me change first.”
“And here I thought you already changed,” she could hear him snort while talking. “Hurry your a*s up, you slowpoke. We’ll gonna be late for school.”
“Okay…” she muttered and then everything fell in silence.
“Serenity!”
The angel who looked exactly like Luciel looked all b****y on his white robe as he extended his hand, as if he was trying to grab someone. His left arm was pierced with a red arrow and she could see how b****y and pained he looked right now.
He was crying as he kept on saying words that she couldn’t comprehend. She extended her hand to hold him but she paused mid-air when she also saw how b****y her hand and arm were.
“Serenity!”
“Why am I dreaming of Luciel as an angel…?” she muttered to herself.
And why my hands were b****y in that dream? And why am I falling in that dream?
“So, our classmates kept on asking me if I could play online games with them and I just kept on rejecting them so they grew suspicious about me so I asked L to pretend as me just for a day and that little demon of mine didn’t fail me because he won so many times in a row,” Luciel shook his head and smiled as he spoke about L’s victory in PUBG, Mobile Legends, League of Legends and DOTA. They’re currently walking towards their school and Luciel shared his little demon L’s victory in online games. “Man, maybe I should play as well next time. I will be two times victorious than my demon. Huh.”
Luciel noticed that Romina was silent beside him while they were walking so he called her. “Romina? Hey, are you okay? What’s wrong?”
“I’ve been having this certain dream ten times this month already…” Romina trailed off. “And it’s the same scenario that I kept dreaming about.”
“What dream is that?” he asked.
“I saw you… in my dream,” she responded. “It’s the same dream that I’ve been telling you.”
Luciel frowned but he kept his silence.
“In that dream… I just kept seeing you as an angel,” she continued. “In that dream, you looked so pretty in white—with all your bluish, jewel-like eyes and your white hair like pure snow. In that dream, I still say that you’re with three people. I couldn’t recognize the three of them but I could tell that there was a girl with you at that time. You looked so happy, flapping your white wings shining through the sky and clouds. You looked so peaceful on that. I just kept on wondering why I kept seeing you in that dream as an angel and not as a demon? And I thought, that dream will end that way but no, it didn’t. It escalated in you holding on to someone. You looked all b****y on your white robe as you extended your hand trying to grab someone. Your left arm was pierced with a red arrow. You looked b****y and pained he looked right now.
You were crying as you kept on saying words that I just couldn’t comprehend in that dream. You kept on crying as you kept on calling someone’s name.”
“Someone’s name?”
“Yeah. You kept on calling the name of this person,” she said. “Serenity.”
After she said the name, she felt the air rushing and swirling nonstop around them. It’s just strong that she held her hair and immediately looked at Luciel who doesn’t seem bothered by the strong breeze of wind around them. It took a minute or two when the wind finally calmed down and Romina was able to look at Luciel and speak.
“Luciel?”
“Romina,” he called her and looked at her with a serious face. “Don’t mention that name ever again.”
That’s the last thing they spoke about when they finally entered the school campus. It seemed like Luciel was “upset” over something—or more like, he was in deep thought after Romina shared her dreams with her so she decided to just walk behind him and let him think.
Suddenly, Romina felt a cold breeze around her. Unlike the wind earlier, this felt so eerie that she could literally feel the chills down her spine. She looked around for a couple of seconds and when she realized that it was nothing and was convinced that she was just over-reacting, she shrugged the thought off and walked again, following Luciel.
As soon as she walked towards him, Romina gasped when she felt her legs collapse which made her fall on her knees. She couldn’t describe what she felt anymore because as soon as her legs collapsed like that, her vision start to blurry and it was hard for her to breathe.
Like she’s burning and she was strangled on the spot.
“Romina!” Luciel immediately went on her aid and immediately caught Romina who’s now having a hard time breathing just as she was about to faint on the floor. He glared at the gray smoke around them and using his powers on his palm, he managed to make the smokes around them vanish.
“You may be able to stop me last time but I’ll assure you that the next time we met each other, I already consumed her soul. I am still after her soul and her soul shall be mine!”
With a burst of eerie laughter echoing around them an anonymous voice spoke and it fades seconds later.
Luciel kept on shaking Romina to wake her up but the latter kept on struggling to breathe. Luciel’s eyes immediately went on Romina’s arm and he immediately cursed under his breath when he saw a familiar mark.
A burnt palm.
“Damn, Percival is back.”
