DAHLIA WAS DIZZY from watching the race. The whine of the engines was omnipresent, adding to the stress she felt watching the race. Yet it was exciting, and she could understand why Alain loved it. The chance to race among the best drivers in the world, alone on the track, was a heady feeling, she imagined. To be among the best in anything was such a feeling of accomplishment.
Having grown up in the shadow of Camille, Dahlia understood the mindset required to be the best. That was the way she felt about her talent, too. She wanted to create excellent perfumes that would stand the test of time. Though she didn’t crave the enormous success that Camille had, she still wanted to perform at the highest level.
