What was I thinking? A cold wave washed over me as I heard the King receive my vow. It was as though his words contained power, a sort of binding. I felt it in my flesh and in my bones. I realized that vows with magical beings are not as light as human promises. Humans tend to make promises when they are happy, only to break it in the end. Promises are meant to be broken, they say.
