As I approached, nibbling on Danish and sipping on the coffee, Jeanie watched me with wide, eager eyes. Her hair was now pixie-short, spiked up on top, and much lighter. It had tendrils hanging a little longer over her eyes, each one dipped in crimson. She'd also added a few more ear, nose and eyebrow piercings. She looked nothing like the Jeanie I once knew. Maybe in the face—her features—but she had done her make-up all different too. Her eyes were kohled heavily, and the crimson lipstick was striking against that porcelain skin.
