He walked out of the old government building they had in town. They got there an hour before it opened to get a good spot in line. After he got his ticket, Anya left to go get a coffee down the street.
An hour after his mom left, he came out to find her waiting outside on her phone. She looked up at him waiting to hear how his test went.
Brandon smiled and held out a piece of paper for her to look at. Her face lit up, “you did it!” She jumped and hugged him. “I’m so proud of you!”

She kissed on his cheek, to which he wiped it off. “Mom, not in public.”
“Oh please,” she waved him off. “Want to drive to school?”
