Chapter 27

2209 Words

Anya   Bliss. That’s exactly how this felt.   She had never had a dream like this where she was just aware. She walked hand-in-hand with Jack.    Except, this wasn’t Jack. Well, it was, but he was different. His hold on her hand was a little tighter, his eyes were different. But they were still happy, nonetheless. His voice was deeper, a little frightening, but she knew she was safe.    She couldn’t hear whatever Jack was talking about, their voices were like a blur. What caught her attention, though, was the woman in the background.   She was a woman, right?   Her skin was like the night sky and freckled with stars in the galaxy. She didn’t wear a readable expression, but stood as though she was just observing them.    Then she heard the voice. Clear as day.   Let them go.
