Edith POV My blurred vision was making out a figure in the distance.I got ahold of myself and opened my eyes properly. It was one of the men working under the mighty Blake Alaric. "Help me! Please." I cried with my throaty voice. "Please let me go, please." I cried again. That man acted like I didn't exist at all.He loosened my shackles long enough to reach the breakfast on the ground. When the day light fell onto my body.I saw my wrists were bleeding and so were my legs. There was chain marks all over my body. However, I immediately grabbed the food and ate it. "Do you need something?" He asked. "Let me go,please." I cried. "Is there any essential necessity of yours?" That lowlife bastard raised his tone at me.However,I defused the fire inside me and replied. "I...um-I need headache pills, with power over 10." I said. "Can you please tell Blake that I want to talk to him, please?" I begged him. He quickly left me all alone in this hellhole. After an hour he gave me my headache pills and that was it.I was left all alone to spend the day. "Des,I promise,I will pay you back one day." His voice echoed in my mind. ''Blake Alaric,I promise,I will pay you back one day." - Seconds felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours. When I finally saw the skies were getting dark,I assumed that it was around seven or so. I wanted to die.I was preaching that I would die.I didn't want this pain.I didn't want to live anymore. My back was acting after sitting all day and night, however, after the man who got me breakfast and lunch,he loosened my shackles a bit so I could reach the ground to eat.Now I could lay down on the dirty, dusty, cold and hard ground which was better than the terrible back pain I was having. Dying was better than this torture. Once again I heard the hard, metal door opened.I opened my eyes but couldn't see anything until the lights were switched on. I was drenched in my own sweat. I didn't have any energy in me. "Help me." I whispered.I blinked hard to let my tears fall. "Please..." My tears fell to the cold ground. A plate of food was placed in front of me.A man knelt down and grabbed me to sit up. "Eat and save your energy because crying and yelling for help will do no good to you." He said. "Blake? Blake! Oh my god.Blake.Please don't do this." I cried. "Blake this isn't you.You would never do this to me." I cried again as I held his hands. "Blake..." I fell to the ground once again because all I did was cry and I had a terrible fever.I was about to pass out. "Is that what your words meant? Your pr-promises..." I whispered as I tried my best to keep my eyes open. "What about you? You promised so many things, bringing me hope. After whatever happened,I thought you could be the person I could trust but oh,you proved me wrong." He said. "I apologized." I whispered weakly. "You broke my trust and you apologized?! Edith Price, you took my kindness the wrong way and you have to pay a price for everything.Don't you forget that!" He clenched his jaw.As much as I hated the name Desdemona,I was yearning to hear it from his lips. He was right.I took his kindness for granted.I promised him that I would not run away yet I did.I deserved this. "So you will leave me here to die?" I asked. "Oh,you will not die.I will make sure of it." He smirked. "Fine..." I closed my eyes.Even though,I secretly prayed that he would rush to me and pick up my soulless body. Then,he would embrace me and comfort me in his arms. I guess I was just dreaming too much. - Blake POV It's been 7 days. A week. She was alive and that's all that mattered.I didn't care about her.I haven't seen her in the last few days. That night was the last night. I was in my office working when my phone rang.I held it up and frowned at the number. "Alaric." "Blake? My old man, where have you been?" The man said through the phone. "Who's this?" I asked. "Oh,blames on me for skipping the introduction.I am Jim." He said. "J-Jim? Jim Hills?" I asked. "Yep." He said.Jim was my best mate back in the college. "Hey.How have you been?" I asked. "I am great.Heard you've been retired from the underworld." He said. "Retire? Ah,there is no retiring for a man like me." I said. "Okay, okay. So let's forward to the main part. Are you free this weekend?" He asked. "Yeah, I think I am if anything emergency doesn't come up." I replied. "How about a dinner at my place? It's been long since we had a decent conversation." He said. "Yeah, sure.Anyways, how is things going with your fiancée?" I asked. "Oh,yeah...women." He laughed. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Oh...Blake." He laughed again. His laugh reflected just the amount of pain I was feeling right now. "Blake, what does love mean to you?" He asked. "Love is...love is not just a bunch of feelings you feel towards someone, feelings that you doubt. It is not a crush. It is not limerence,it is not a temporary infatuation.It's...different.It's built by trust. That is love. When you love someone so much that you hand them your heart. That's the mistake we make.We forget that our heart is as fragile as a glass." I sighed. "Dear friend, you talk like you are in love...Are you in love?" He asked. "I was..." I sighed. "Why do I get a feeling that you aren't talking about Claire?" He asked. "I am not." I answered honestly. "Who is she?" He asked intriguingly. "Just the right person at the wrong time." I smiled. "Where is she now?" He asked. I explained him the whole story from how Joseph failed to pay me back and how Desdemona affected me to how I kept her locked in a dirty warehouse. His one sentence changed my whole perspective. My whole rock like heart. "Blake Alaric, save her while there is still time or you might just reach the right place at the wrong time." As soon as the call ended,I looked through the balcony and dropped my cigar. I was startled when my telephone started to ring.I grabbed it immediately. "Boss...boss." The man was running out if breath. "Boss it's Bill...boss... they've taken away Desdemona!"
