The First Heartbreak

The morning was bright.Everything seemed perfect.I've never been this much happy in my entire life.
I freshed up and walked downstairs just to face a storm I've been avoiding.
Luke was hugging Kira while she cried in his chest.Luke's face was filled with sorrow.He comforted her as she kept on crying.
Seeing that,I swallowed hard as I felt my heart stop.I felt my blood surging.Everything around me became silent as I could hear nothing except my own heartbeat.
I felt numb and broken from inside.
Was he the same man who held me and kissed me last night?Now he had another woman in his arms.
Anger curled hot and unstoppable in my gut,like a blazing inferno that wanted to burn me from the inside out.
My fists clenched as he looked at me.He was wrong.His eyes will not betray me this time.
I ran to my room as I slammed the door.Locking it from inside I began to punch the wall.
It was enough.The pain I was receiving wasn't enough to numb the excruciating pain in my heart.
My eyes saw the mirror.My body reflected on the glass as my fists broke through the glass.
"Lucia!" I heard he was knocking loudly on the door.
"Please open the door!" He screamed from the outside.I stayed quiet.
Heartless man.

When I realized he was about to break the door.I went to the bathroom.
I sat on the tub waiting for all these to end.
I covered my ears with my hands as I was getting irritated by the sound of banging of the doors.
I bit my lips to suppress the pain.
The door behind me bursted open.It faced my back.I didn't move an inch.His footsteps came rushing to me as I was soon lifted up in his embrace.
I closed my eyes.Take the pain away,someone take this pain away from me.
"Lucia?" He shook me but I didn't respond.He placed me on the bed.
His face began to tense up but I didn't need his sympathy.
"Go away..." I whispered.
"I promise,it isn't what you thought." He said.
"It doesn't matter what I think!" I increased my tone.
"And how many times do I have to tell you that's all that matters!" He responded back at me.
"Go away." I pushed him softly.I sobbed and wiped my tears.
"Lucia calm down and listen to me." He said as he hugged me from the back.
"I don't need you." I whispered.
"Okay fine but you do need medications so please." He said.
"I should've known." I cried as I hugged my knees.
"Lucia...you aren't listening to me." He said.
"Who are you? Why should I listen to you? Give me one reason why I should listen to you." I said to him.
"Well because I love you! Isn't that obvious?" He said.I narrowed down my eyes and didn't talk to him.The maids cleaned my room as well.
After a few minutes,a doctor arrived and bandaged my cuts.
"I fear that her left hand's bone is damaged." She said.Luke nodded and looked at me.
I didn't realize but I fell asleep.

I woke up by Luke calling me,"Wake up,you need to eat and take medicines." He said.
"I am not hungry." I replied.
"Stay angry with me Lucia but don't punish yourself for this.You have broken a promise as well." He said.
"And so did you." I whispered.
"No I didn't.You've got tons of wrong stuff in your head and right now you will eat." He said.I gave up arguing with him and ate the food.
It felt good as I hadn't anything since this morning.
After I was done eating,he kept the food outside and laid beside me.I didn't say anything either.I just turned my back at him and looked at the sky through the window.
"Lucia..." He whispered.I could barely hear his voice.
"It isn't always what it seems." He said.
"You already have painted me as a bad man in your mind but I want you to know that I will never ever lie to you.Whatever I do,I do while thinking about you and...You are all I have,you are my first priority my biggest importance and the woman I love the most." His words moved me to tears.I sobbed slowly.
"I care about you the most and as I've always said,I can't bear seeing you in pain.I told you a million times that if you're hurt then I am hurt but you don't understand.You don't know how guilty you've made me feel when you did this to yourself.It made me feel like I am unable to take care of you.Whether you believe me or not...I will always love you." He ended his words.
It was full of emotions and sincerity.I covered my mouth in order to suppress any sounds.
Tears streamed down.
I turned at him as he looked at me.He wiped my tears and pulled me closer to his chest.
"Why were you embracing her then?" I asked.
"Because she was r***d by someone in the family.She was weak and helpless.She thought only I could help her that's why she came to me." He replied.
"Does it really matter?You give her the same importance as you give me.I don't want to be 'that' woman so if you don't love me just tell me instead of making me fall in deeper with you."
"You don't understand how much I love you.I love you the most and I swear to you I will never touch her again if that's what you want." He said.
"Is that a promise?" I asked.
"Yes." He replied as he continued wiping my tears.
"What if you break it?" I asked.
"I don't break promises.You are the one who does." He said as he raised an eyebrow.
I looked down.
He raised my chin and kissed me.
It meant everything.His Love and his sacrifices.
