The Truth:The Deal Between Luke and Alex

I rang the doorbell as I played with my fingers out of nervousness.

The door opened.

"Lucia!" Walker said as he invited me inside.

I walked inside his big yet simple house.It was just like him.

"Hi Lucia! How are you?" said Mrs.Walker.She was also very kind.

"I am fine.How are you?" I asked as I smiled.

"I am great.Do you want to eat something?" She asked.

"No,thank you." I replied smilingly.I also met Riley, Walker's son,who was the same age as me and I met Shannon,his daughter,who was only sixteen.

Mrs.Walker brought us some juice and some dry foods.

We chit chatted for an hour.It was quite a pleasant time.After a while, Riley and Shannon excused us saying that they have to study.

Even Mrs.Walker left after a while.

I took a deep breath and drank the orange juice.

"Lucia...you are strong." Walker said as he patted my shoulder.

"Ask me what you want to know." He said as he brushed his hand under his chin.

"Robert Vernon...who was he?" I asked.

"Robert... Robert was a good friend of mine.He was a dedicated man. Robert and Jason had some personal issues with Boris Smirnov,the Russian General,as you know.Robert was a junior back then.He was an undercover so he used to pass information about the Russians to us.Somehow,Boris came to know that he was an undercover so he ordered his men to bring back Robert in one piece so he can punish him personally." He said with remorse.

"When he returned to the headquarter,he requested to be kept in special protection.That was the biggest mistake I've made in my entire life...I-I refused.My ignorance led to such misery upon all of us.When Boris took him,he wanted to kill him and his family but when Boris met his family,he saw Luke Vernon,his son and Teressa Vernon,the woman he loved.He also saw that Robert and Teressa had a little daughter, Samantha.

Then,he exchanged a deal with Robert.If he gives him the information about us,he will spare him and his family.Robert agreed to it as he hadn't an option." He added.

He took a deep breath before continuing,"I got angry.I ordered to kill Robert before he tells everything to Boris.Teressa,was hiding with her daughter, Samantha.Luke and Robert were under special protection.Due to Teressa's callousness Samantha came out of the hideout,giving her location and Jason Dempsey...he killed her."

I gasped.How could he be so cruel? How could he kill such a young being.Tears welled up in my eyes.

"Years later,Luke Vernon came back to kill Jason but Alex stopped and begged for his life.When he realized Luke Vernon was merciless,he...he gave you up to him."

"What?" The tears finally fell down.I covered my mouth with my hand.

"Yes.He promised to give him to you in exchange of his father's life,only when you become 18.He told your parents about it and they...they agreed."

I couldn't believe what he was saying.My own parents decided to trade me.My heart shattered into a million pieces.Now I realized that,no one ever loved me.No one ever cared for me.

"Don't take them wrong, Lucia.Luke said if your parents don't agree on giving you,he will kill you." He said.

"I can't believe this..." I cried.Whatever it was,they should've told me.

"It's fine, daughter.I am here for you." He said as he patted my back to calm me down.

"Luke,I think he feels for you, genuinely." He said.

"Why do you say so?" I asked.

"When Alex hit you that night,he came to know about it.He almost beat Alex to death." He replied.

I remember.When I asked him what happened,he told me he got robbed that's why he was injured.Luke really loved me

"When you turned eighteen,he decided to break his deal with Luke.Giving excuses for two years,he got away but Luke finally showed him that what happens to those who betrays him." He said.

"I can't believe this.I can't believe it's all real." I cried.

"You ever wondered why Alex never insisted on sleeping with you?" He asked.

"No."

"It's because Luke forbade him that's why." He said.

"I think I should head home now." I wiped my tears and stood up.

"Take care of yourself, daughter."

"Thank you, General Walker.You've been like a father I never had.I will always be grateful to you." I said as I gave him a hug.

"You have a long life ahead of you.Best of luck.If you ever need me.Just know that I will always be there." He said.

I walked out of his house.It was past midnight.
