Chapter 4: The Ball

YUJI'S POV

This is my second day here in EA I still haven't got any friends. Mahirap silang pakisamahan and they mostly avoided me when I get near them. Mailap ba sila sa transferees?

I was silent when Dan Selvestre showed me around kase nararamdaman ko rin na naiilang sya sa akin, what's wrong with them? Hindi naman ako naiiba sa kanila. I'm a noble too! gusto ko na talaga magwala kaso wag kase I have reputation and I'm a d*amned Cromwell so shush nalang ako sa gilid. Daig ko pa yung mysterious introverted person na nakikita ko sa memes sa peysbuk. It's definately not a hoax, mahihirapan talaga ako. This new community na pinasukan ko will be another hell for me.

That guy Dan is my friend before pero our families are already not in contact for several years kaya there is no reason for me to be in tangled with him or have any relationship with him kase we are already done in terms of family and friendship. I did not recognize him at first but he opened it up and I immediately realized who he actually was, nagulat talaga ako but hindi ko na pinakita yun. That was a bummer and I was shocked to what I just learned. He is a childhood friend! for Gaya's sake!

I tried to act as if I wasn't trying to be friendly, I don't want to be friends with him for long kase I just don't like the idea. The fact that my father cut ties with them just means that they are something we should avoid. I don't know the whole story for sure pero my Dad wouldn't forget and shut you out if you're not a traitor. That is how my father's principles work, he has one word.

I still couldn't believe myself when I asked him to go with me to the ball. Anyways, there will be no one I could talk to if I don't ask him right? it's not impulsive but rather an escape. I am awfully glad that I did not stutter or spat nonsense over there because if I did....I could die of humiliation. My self control these days have gotten better, I'm getting matured for sure.

"You're pretty.", Sahara spoke from behind. She was looking at me through my reflection on the mirror.

I figured out her name when Dan told me who my roommate was. She is Sahara Hedfer, she is 19 years of age with the ability to see through dark places or even at night. She is good at archery because she could see far places or targets. She could run fast as well, that explains why she suddenly disappeared yesterday. She is a bit weird but I feel safe with her, she seems harmless and could become my friend in no time.

"You look pretty too.", I initiated and looked at her.

She is wearing a cocktail gown that looks dashing on her, her pale skin matches its color which is black. She have such long ang thick natural lashes that made her look attractive. She is beautiful, it made me wonder who she will be with tonight.

"Hemmingsworths are pains in the ass for real don't you think? They will give such short notice to us and demands a ball, they should focus with their job in making this school safe from dark magic and traitors", she snapped and went to her bed.

I know the story before about Hemmingsworths and its ownership of this Academy. They are not the first to handle Everlasting but some other family. The thing is, that bloodline ended and their name was never remembered. There is some sort of dark magic that brainwashed the nobles. They want answers but the current family could not provide an answer and refused to talk about it in several press conferences.

I was once invested to that mystery but my father told me that there are much more important things that I need to study about history. All I know is that the bloodline that has been dead for decades are still there, but in the dark. The thing that I don't understand is why do nobles are so elusive about this topic? am I the only one that knows nothing about anything?

They keep on talking in riddles that I could not understand, their words surely have a meaning and messages that will fill in the puzzle of this mystery. The pieces are also broken into tiny chunks that is nearly impossible to complete. This is nota current hurdle pero it weighs me at di ko alam kung bakit binabagabag ako sa mga impormasyong pinagkakait sa akin ng mga bulong ng hangin.

I looked at myself on the mirror, my hair is styled in half up half hown hairstyle with A barrette, my dark purple gown with black roses with spine details. My dad brought me the best he could pick and I liked it. He sure knows my favorite color and my taste. I smiled and took my handbag. I went out with Sahara and went to EA's ballroom.

It felt unreal when two man in suits opened the door and welcomed us both, it was surreal. My gaze wandered around the huge room, it is so bright that it might blind me. The large chandelier with small pieces of light bulbs and diamond shines and it looks so elegant and pleasing, this feels like a romantic novel where I am destined to be a crown prince's concubine. Nakakamangha ang lahat na naririto at ngayon lang din ako nakapunta sa ganitong pagtitipon na kung saan ay lahat ay kaedad ko lang.

Nobles are everywhere and it made the huge place occupied, all of them are dressed well and looks beautiful.

Sahara signed me to go downstairs to get some drink and is probably the less crowded place. While stepping down, I felt my heart race as I saw Dan looking so fine with his black tuxedo. His is not wearing eyeglasses and damn... he looks so good!
