Summoning

Kara I looked at the page from the summoning book I stole from the convent's library. If this doesn't work... then I hope this spell will somehow kill me, because returning to the convent is no longer an option. Not only did I break into a forbidden library and rip apart one of the oldest books there, but what I am going to do is the biggest crime one might commit in the eyes of the covent. I will attempt the ancient magic of communicating with the underworld, which is strictly forbidden for everyone. The punishment for killing someone is more lenient than one for interacting with the Devil. But desperate times call for desperate measures. I refuse to spend another day in the covent... to spend another night in Tobia's bed... Nausea started to rise even from the thought of it. I could feel the ghost of his touch on my skin... memories of what he done to me... NO. That won't happen. He will not touch me again. This will work. And if it won't... Well, I will think about it then. I took another look at the page and memorized the spell. It will be one of the most difficult ones that I have ever tried, but I am sure I can do it. Carefully, I arranged the offerings and, as the moon hit its highest point, I started the ritual. Kneeling in the middle of the circle, I closed my eyes as I started repeating the spell. "I call upon you, the ruler of all that's dark, the king of hell, please hear my plea..." I repeated it over and over again when I felt the flames around me jump. My heartbeat sped up and I almost lost concentration from excitement, but caught myself at the very last moment. It's working! I thought to myself as I put more intention into the call, as I felt something cold dripping from my nose and down my face. Shit. It's taking more power than I have, from here I have only a minute before I either pass out or my power fades. I f*****g hate this. I hate how weak I am, how I have to rely on the covent to get any sort of power... Taking a deep breath, I pushed myself for one more moment until I felt my powers completely deplete. I felt like a string that was pulled to strongly suddenly snapped. The flames around me died down as I slowly peeled my eyes open hoping to see Lucifer or something, but there was no one in front of me. "s**t s**t SHIT...." I fell forward, hitting the cold ground in front of me with my fits, letting frustration out. Tears were running down my cheeks, because this was my last hope... now... now I have no idea how to fix all of this... "Well, you could have gotten better wine." A low voice came from behind me forcing me to turn around. When I looked behind me I saw the most beautiful creature that I had ever seen. His beauty was not human, he looked like an angel or a god of some sort. His long black hair was hitting his shoulder. It looked silky smooth and my fingers ached to touch it. His face was delicate but masculine at the same time. I couldn't help but stare at him in complete awe. "Lu...Lucifer?" I whispered, my voice shaking so badly that I could hardly recognize it myself. The man lifted his eyes from the bottle in his hand and looked at me. It felt like everything stopped the moment he looked at me for the first time. When his eyes stopped on my face, something flashed in his eyes, but it was gone in a moment. Making it impossible for me to catch it, but whatever it was it was strong and made him smirk a bit. "Sorry love, the boss is a bit too busy right now. He sent me in his place, Raggaron, at your service." He made a very exaggerated bow as he waited for me to say something, but I was a bit too stunned to say anything, so he continued. "We generally have a rule against taking house calls, but when someone as pretty as you calls how could I not pick up? And the little spell of yours made it impossible to ignore you. Want to tell me how such a pretty little thing like you got your hands on something this powerful?" He was armed with the most charming smile. The tone of his voice pushed something in me, making me want to do whatever he wanted, forcing me to jump to my feet so I could get closer to him. I was ready to fall at his feet, but I caught myself at the very last moment. Focus Kara, you have a mission. "What difference does it make to you where I got it from?" My voice has now returned to normal. I guess the frustration mixed with annoyance at his patronizing tone made me a bit angrier than I first expected... I should control my emotions a bit better if I hope to get what I need out of this. A slow smile slipped onto his lips as he slowly lowered the bottle back to the ground and he picked up the ripped-out page I forgot outside of the circle. "Well, we can't have powerful s**t like that falling into just anyone's hands. It would make our lives very annoying. So where did you get this from?" He waved the page in front of my face with one eyebrow lifted in question. "I took it from my covent. It is heavily guarded, so you don't need to worry about it." With a little chuckle, he slowly started circling me. "And I should believe you that it is safe when something as weak as you got it?" "WHAT?" He chuckled louder this time. "Oh come on. You barely survived a summoning spell. Don't act hurt, you know it yourself, that you are weak. If you were strong you would not need my help." "What makes you think that I barely survived?" "Well, for starters, the bloody nose is a straight giveaway... and..." He took a sudden step forward in my direction, stopping right next to me. Slowly, he leaned into me and took a deep breath right next to my hair. I was too stunned to try to get away. "And you are completely drained." Just as fast as he appeared next to me, he was gone, circling me again. A part of me wanted to argue with him and deny it, but he was telling the truth. So me trying to deny it would just make me look even more childish. "It is safe, I used a lot of my powers to get it and after me taking it, the security will be doubled if not tripled, so you have nothing to worry about anyone using it again." I could feel his gaze reading my body as he slowly paced around me. He stopped right in front of me and captured my eyes, forcing me to meet his gaze. "So little witch, why did you summon me here?" Okay, this is the moment. "I have a deal to make." He tilted his head a bit to the side as his eyes narrowed. "I'm listening, what do you want?" I took a deep breath and said it out loud for the first time. "Freedom." After I said it, I closed my eyes and stopped breathing for a moment, waiting for his response. To my surprise, his reaction was laughter. "Sorry little witch, a bit too vague. I need you to be a bit more specific. What do you mean by freedom?" I pulled up the sleeve of my dress and showed him the mark of bonding that Tobias put on my wrist on the day of our wedding. "I need this to be broken, so I could be free from him and his freaking covent."
