Uncontrollable rage

Kara Tobias stood there, in front of me, with the book of daemons in his hands. My whole body went still for a moment. "What are you doing, Kara?" He asked with a hint of mockery in his voice as he took a step in my direction with his other hand extended to me. "Give me the page you took and I will make it all disappear. You're lucky no one noticed you were gone and that your non-excitant energy of yours did not trigger the alarms." He took a step closer, and instinctively I took a small step back. I guess the years of getting constantly hit or hurt in some other ways have trained my body to react to him like this. The fear and instinct to retreat was second nature to me now. This reaction right now is one of the main reasons, why I risked it all. I can hardly remember a time any more when I was not like this, but I know that there was a time when I was different... when I did not shiver with fear at every shadow... that was excited about things... But he took it all away. "Kara, give me that page now." This time his voice had a lot more power to then. It was clear that he was not happy that I was not submitting to his will like wished. It was getting on his nerves and he was not very patient to begin with. His words and body language radiated pure threat and promise of pain as he took another step closer. "Give the page to me. We will go home, you will take your punishment, and we can put this behind us." The moment he talked about punishment his whole body changed. His eyes shined with hunger and promise... a promise that I refused to let come to fruition. I could not help it, all those nights he had used me and hurt me, started to replay in my head. It was like I had to relive each and every time he hit me... or hurt me in some other way. All that pain... all those tears... Nausea started to rise in my throat and I guess it showed on the outside because his face changed, he acted as if he had already won. "I don't know why you even tried to take it. It's not like you could even use it. You don't have enough power to do basic spells like lighting a fire. How did you imagine that you would muster enough power to do demon magic... what did you even attempt to do?" He got even a step closer, but this time I made no attempt to move back. I was done with running away. This is the last time he will threaten me or make me cower in the corner, I refuse. I met his eyes face forward, challenging him in a way. With a confident smirk filled with mockery, I raised one of my hands in the air holding an amulet I took from the amulet I used to power up the spell as well as the page. It took him a moment to get two and two together. Once he finally realized what I had done and how his face changed instantly. His face filled with rage as he grabbed my hand with those two artifacts, making my aleve roll down exposing my wrist where the bonding mark used to be. The moment he saw that it was no longer there he released my hand as if it had burned him and took a step back. "What... how... what did you do, Kara?" I could not help myself but laugh. To see him cower in fear this time... it felt liberating and freeing. I could feel energy tingling at the tips of my fingers as I stared at him head-on. "What do you think I did?" I said with a little laughter in my voice. "You... you could not have..." "I could not have what? Summoned a demon? Because I can assure you that I did. Not only that, but I succeeded" He stared at me with his eyes filled with fear and horror. "But... but..." "But what? I am weak? Or that I am a coward? Or do you have something else stupid to ask? Because I can tell you, I succeeded. I summoned a demon and made a deal with him." The mockery in my voice must have hit a note because not a moment later he kinda snapped out of it a bit. "You fool, don't you know that there is reason why we do not use demon magic? Demons are unreliable assholes. They never hold up their end of the deal and they will screw you over in the end. You have no idea what you set yourself up for." "Ha, anything is better than living even one more day tied with you. I would have chosen death if this would have not worked." "Well, that is not a very nice thing to say about someone you witches had not worked with in years. For your information, we always hold up our end of the deal. It is not our fault that most of the witches make very vague deals and do not listen when we explain shit." I blinked a few times staring at the man who just appeared from what seemed like air. He stood to the side of the room and he was holding the demon book that just a moment ago was in Tobias's hands. "What... what are you doing here?" The demon turned his eyes away from Tobia and looked at me with a smirk on his face. "Well I did not trust you to succeed, so I snuck in using you as my vessel." I stared at him stunned. "Wait what? When?" His smirk got a bit wider. "Well, you know the little kiss we shared? It was not to seal the deal, but to sneak some of my energy into you, so when you walked into this place. It broke the protective borders they had here and I could sneak in here and take what belongs to us." "You did what?" The angry jealous tone of Tobias's voice made us both turn to him... it was as if he reminded me and the demon of his existence... which was a mistake on his part. "I snuck in here to take the book... I know that the likes of you do not possess great thinking abilities, but that is not such a hard context to comprehend. I came here to take this book with me." He repeated that in a much slower pace holding up a book in front of Tobias face. This was a clear mockery just as were his words, they pushed Tobia further and he lashed out. "That is not what I meant you disgusting creature of the dark. I was talking about you kissing my wife..." It looked like he was about to say more but the sound stopped coming from his mouth the more he talked and panic filled his face. "First off, rude. There is no need to use such foul language." The demon had his hand raised and it was clear that he was the one that stopped Tobia from talking. "Second, she was not your wife at that moment anymore. I removed her marking before we kissed by her request, so stop whatever nonsense you were about to spew here." I blinked a few times trying to wrap my head around the tidbit of information he just shared and at that exact moment, Tobias decided to move. With his face filled with anger, he ran in my direction and the look on his face promised pain and probably death to me. "First off, rude. Its very inp
