Chapter Six Ric slouched in the wooden chair next to Harry's desk waiting for him to return from the morning briefing. He took a sip from the battered mug, then recoiled and set down the cup. The precinct was obviously trying to save money on their coffee. It was little more than murky water. Not even sugar, if it were available, would transform the liquid into something drinkable. Still groggy from lack of sleep, Ric rubbed his burning eyes. He shouldn’t have walked all the way to Central Park after leaving Teddy’s place. Despite being out well after two o'clock, he’d tossed and turned when he’d finally dropped into bed. When the sun poked its fingers around the window shade, he abandoned any pretense of sleep and rose. When Harry returned, he'd tell him to find another sucker to help
