Aeron POV The night air was thick with the scent of the forest, the damp earth, and the crispness of the riverbank. My senses were alive, tingling with every sound, every shift in the wind. The piece of fabric I found, torn from Elaine's dress, clutched tightly in my hand as I shifted back into my wolf form. The need to find her pulsed through me like a second heartbeat, guiding my every step. The scent was faint but unmistakable. Elaine had been here, close enough that I could almost feel her presence. Every part of my body wanted me to push harder and faster, but I knew that if I wanted to save Elaine, I had to be smart about this. The rogues were cunning and had the advantage of numbers, and they had hostages. Charging recklessly could mean putting Elaine in even more danger. B
