The next morning when Greg was in his office, Delbert rushed in and said, “Do you know what they’re saying around the water fountain?”
Greg rolled his eyes. He didn’t give a rat’s ass. His problems were much bigger than water fountain gossip. “What is it, Delbert? What has you so troubled?”
“These slayings around town…they’re saying they were…they’re saying that you…”
Greg’s eyes widened and he jumped up from his desk. “My God, they’re what?”
“It’s got to be some kind of joke, or something, but some damned busybody has it around the office that you’re some kind of weirdo…a monster…or something.”
“Where’s Sean?”
“Sean? He’s long gone.”
“I don’t think so. He’s at the bottom of this. I know it.”
“Greg, forget Sean,” Delbert said, looking at him strangely. “What about this?
