"mate?" I saw him mouth while looking at me from head to tall.

"I love you Claudio! Marry me!" A girl screamed out, followed by the other females doing the same and instead of Claudio keeping his eyes on me his mate, he practically ignored me and looked at the girl who screamed then winked at her. The girl screamed even louder, her friends matching the scream.

"He's our mate, why is he winking at her instead of us?" I said to Lyca while my eyes were fixed on Claudio who didn't even bother looking my way.

" I told you he would reject us, if you had listened to me then maybe our hopes wouldn't have been raised only to be shattered,"

Her words made me feel inferior and Not willing to have him upright reject me, I walked back into the school building going straight to my class which was empty due to everyone welcoming their alpha.

I sat in my usual spot at the far end of the classroom where I was less visible and looked out the window wishing that I would be a normal girl like everyone else, maybe that way I would be with the man that I love.

Yes I loved Claudio with all my heart, he treated me better than anyone else and he was my first.

"Just because he was the first doesn't mean he will make us his last,"

" You are the worst wolf to be stuck with you know that!" I snapped at her

"I'm just stating facts,"

"Facts my foot! You are suppose to be on the same page with me, making me feel better not breaking me even more!"

"I'm not breaking you ----"

"Keep quiet!" I yelled at her blocking her off.

From what I heard from the Luna, a wolf was meant to be an extension of us, to help encourage and stand with us when everyone else is against but I not only was born as an abomination but I got cursed with a wolf that bullies me like everyone else.

I wish my life was different.

"Did you see him? Oh my gosh I swear I'm going to be so overjoyed when I turn 18 and find out that he's my mate!" I heard students say as they filled up the classroom.

I guess the welcoming ceremony was done.

"Do you think he will be part of our class?" one of the girls, lily-Ann said and I looked at her hoping that would not be the case.

Judging by how he ignored me, I was certain a rejection was on its way and I wasn't ready to be rejected. Not by him, not by the man that I love more than anything, the only man that ever treated me right.

"No silly he's our senior, he's graduating high school this year," Ailyn said.

I let out a sigh, glad that I won't be seeing him in class everyday.

"Settled down students," I heard the teacher say and everyone sat down with him commencing the lesson.

All through out class, my mind kept on wandering off to Claudio, my heart kept on wishing that my appearance would suddenly change so that I can be confident enough to be in his presence but sadly no matter how much I wished, nothing was happening, I was still the same ghost looking girl that everyone hated and ignored.

"Miss Romano,"

Why did the moon goddess do this to me?

"Miss Angel Romano,"

Why did she bless everyone with good looks then curse me like this.

"Angel?"

They say she loves us and wants what's best for us but making me look like this isn't a blessing but a curse, if only---

"HALLOWEEN!!" My heard snapped to the sound of the voice and the entire class was looking at me including the teacher.

"Um," I blinked staring at them wondering why I was suddenly the center of attention.

No one ever acknowledged me including the teachers so then?

"Um yes sir?" I answered unsure as to why I was even answering.

"I asked a question, care to answer?" The teacher Mr Alton said and everyone just kept staring at me without blinking.

I felt like digging a hole in the ground and burying myself but damn it--- the ground was too hard to dig.

I opened and closed my mouth like a fish out of water, I wasn't used to being on the spotlight.

"Focus," he said giving me a warning look then continued teaching and everyone averted their gazes back to him.

I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding and finally focused on the lesson which he concluded in a few minutes.

The bell rang and everyone left the class talking amongst each other.

I slung my backup on my shoulders and walked out of the class until ---

"Not again!" I said to myself when I collided head on with a moving rock solid thing.

I lost my balance and a silent scream escaped my lips but before I could fall down, strong arms wrapped around me breaking the fall.

Sparks! Intense electric sparks erupted all over my body and I let out a gasp looking at the man who just held me breaking the fall.

"Alpha Claudio," I whispered feeling my insides melt as if it was ice placed near a source of heat.

I felt my coochie burn with desire and for a moment I heard Lyca purr in my head.

"Safe?" he asks but I didn't respond as my eyes where fixed on him taking him in.

Looking at him this close, he surpassed my imaginations.

When I looked at him back at the school entrance, he looked handsome but looking at him this up close, handsome was an understatement, man looked like a true Greek God, as if he just climbed down from the heavens to come and bless us with his handsomeness.

His pure red hair was nicely styled giving him that beautiful and amazing look.

He had a developing black beard on his finely chisel shaped jawline and my hands itched to play with it.

My eyes slowly found themselves on his lips and I couldn't help but lick mine remembering how his tasted.

"Safe?" He asked again and this time I nodded my head dismissing the thoughts and he set me on my feet.

I opened my mouth about to say something but without even giving me a chance, he walked away leaving me in a cloud of dust.

"He's left me?" I said looking as he disappeared behind the corner.

I couldn't help but feel a pang of hurt in my heart. He didn't even smile at me nor ask how I was doing.

I knew it! I knew a rejection was on its way!

"I told you not to keep your hopes up," I turned my head and saw Benson standing there.

He wasn't giving me the same teasing look that he always did but for the first time he looked serious.

"Not now Benson," I said turning my head away when I felt something burn the corner of my eyes.

"I knew that he was your mate the moment I saw you lock eyes at the welcoming," he spoke again coming closer and not willing to cry in front of my bully, I was about to run off but he held my arm saying.

"He doesn't deserve you and you don't deserve him either, you are just a little ghost, why would you even think that the almighty alpha like him would even look at you? The sooner you make peace with the fact that you are nothing but a reject in this pack, the better and happier you will be!"

His words felt like sharp knives to my heart and a sob escaped my lips.

I shoved his hand away and ran out of the school going straight to the pack.

It was a 20 minute walk from school grounds to the pack house but since I was a werewolf, I ran and in less than 7minutes I was at the pack.

I pushed the pack house door open and came face to face with the Luna.

"Angel? Are you----"

I didn't even let her finish and I just ran up the stairs straight to my room closing the door and laying on my bed crying my eyes out.

"Angel honey what happened?" I heard the Luna ask followed by feeling her arms wrapped around me and I cried even more.

"Why was I born this way, does the goddess hate me this much to make me an abomination?"

" Don't say that honey, you are not ----""

"Of course I am!" I snapped at her sitting up and looking at her.

"No one wants to talk to me, they all ignore me as if I've got a contagious disease and you know what? I just found my mate but he didn't even look at me! He -- he ignored me like everyone else! And my wolf? Just like everyone else she bullies me and makes me feel worse!" I ranted.

" Oh honey," she wrapped her arms around me again and I hugged her back,

"You are not an abomination, you are beautiful just like this and that man--- whoever he is, is a fool for thinking otherwise. Tell me his name so that I can give him a peace of my mind!"

I opened my mouth about to tell her but stopped myself, wondering how she would react if she found out that her son was my mate.

What if she also decides to stay away from me because of this?

I remember two years ago when she caught me and him kissing, she was so made she made him stay away from me for an entire week. If she finds out, she will definitely have me transfered to her brother's pack in America.

"Tell me what's his name? I swear I'm going to make him pay for making my sweet innocent girl cry!"

" Well um," I hesitated.

" Go on say it," she pressed on her brown eyes trained on me, eager to hear me say it.

"Well, his name is---"

"Luna Raima," we both looked at the source of the voice and my mother stood there her eyes fixed on the Luna.

She didn't even spare me a glance and seeing my very own mother ignore me like this, made me feel worse than before.

"What is it?" the Luna asked.

"There is a problem that requires your attention immediately," my mom said and Luna nodded her head,

"Why don't you go freshen up, I will bring you something to eat okay," she kissed my forehead and walked out of the room leaving me alone just like always.

I let out a sigh getting up from the bed and immediately, I heard my phone ping.

I picked it up checking the message

Unknown: I'm sorry for ignoring you.

"Who is this?" I asked.

Unknown: It's Claudio
