The Once Rejected Luna

Reunited

Panic filled the air as I pushed myself harder running through the trees as a thunderous pounding could be heard behind me. The feeling of death on your heels was sickening. I pushed harder. I could hear Verena yelling for me to shift but fear filled me. It filled me lungs as it became difficult to breath.

The thick fog made it difficult to see what’s head of me. Verena screaming for me to stop was the one thing that saved me before I went over. I turned around as a pair of yellow eyes stared at me. Threatening to rip me from limp to limp. My breathe caught as the sound of beeping filled my ears.

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

The annoying sound of the alarm filled my ears as I groaned. I tired to sit up but I felt a strong arm tighten it’s grip around me. I looked down to see a sleeping Theon. I smiled and ran my hands up Theon’s arm. “My love I have to get up, I have to make sure I’m ready to leave soon.” He groaned as he rolled his way off of me with a giant pout on his face like a toddler who lost his favorite toy. Smiling down at him I kissed his cheek “It’ll only be for a short while my love. We just have to make sure he is where I think he is and make him realize he’ll be safe here.” Theon sat up and rubbed his chin itching his beard. “Just remember to not make it seem like we can destroy him. You have to let him know we are on his side.”

I knew he was right about that. I have to gain his trust. If I blow this I could get my old pack killed and myself. “I know my love, I know I’m treading on thin waters and I have to be careful.” Theon got out of the bed and wrapped his arms around my waist. “Please come back to me in one piece.” His head rested on my shoulder as his grip tightened. “Please, I can’t lose you and it already kills me that you are leaving to go deal with this. I know you have your Luna duties and I know you’re trying to protect our future children, but please.”

I held onto him and softly ran my fingers through his hair “I will come back to you my love. I promise you that.” He lifted his head and looked down at me, without saying another word he kissed me deeply as I returned the deep kiss. We could of stayed like that for the rest of time but time wasn’t on our side and I had to get on my way. I was going to reunite with my family, but this time as a luna.

After the heart breaking goodbyes, knox, Lydia, and I all left for the Blue mist pack. I sat there for bit watching Theon get smaller and smaller in the rear mirror until I could no longer see him. Verena howled in pain. I knew Theon and Jasper were also in pain as Verena and I were. This would be our first time since finding each other we would be gone from one another for longer then a few days. I felt Lydia staring at me. “luna?” My eyes reached up to her. “Mhmm?” Watching her, she reached into the back seat and pulled out Theon’s hoodie. “I knew you’d miss your mate so I took the liberty of asking him pack this into the car for you.” I sat up quickly as I happily took the hoodie. “Thank you so much Lydia!” Her smile was huge, just as huge as mine is.

The rest of her car ride went peacefully as I was curled up in Theon’s hoodie. It made it easier for me to be a bit away from him, but I knew deep down I wanted to get this done fast so I can be reunited with my love.

After a few more hours Knox came pulling into the Blue mist pack. I looked out the window as I saw my family and a few of my old pack members waiting outside to see me. Luke was also waiting out there which kinda left a bitter taste in my mouth. No feelings were there for him but it still feels off and weird.

As the car came to a stop before I could open my door, it was being flung open and I was pulled from the car. I looked to see Jay and I smiled happily. Before his sent could get on Theon’s hoodie I pulled it off and threw it in the car. “Jay!!” My arms wrapped him and he spun me around “my beautiful little sister! Who’s a luna?” He smiled down at me “You have come so far, I remember when you use to follow me around like a lost little puppy.” Both Knox and Lydia were out of the car as my father was making his way over smiling. “My beautiful little girl, I’m so proud of you especially since you make such an amazing Luna.” I knew that was a little bit of a jab at Luke but I wouldn’t trade Theon for the world.

Once we were done, Knox, Lydia and I followed my family to their home with our bags. Knox and my brother Jay were caught up in a conversation, I could hear Jay saying something like ‘she’s always been a pain and stubborn.’ I rolled my eyes knowing that he was talking about me. I laughed softly as I spoke up “I do know where you sleep Jay and Knox.” He looked at me “You live with me in our pack.” Lydia giggled and my father spoke up. “Son you always seem to forget that your sister paid more attention in her lessons then you did.” Knox raised his eyebrow as Jay looked uneasy. Knox spoke up looking at me confused as we walked into my parent’s home. “Luna, you were part of the guard here?” As if on queue my dad beamed “part of the guard? My little girl here was suppose to take over and be Captain!” My mother rolled her eyes “honey, why don’t we let them settle in, they have been on the road for the last 6 hours. We got lucky that Luke didn’t want to throw a feast for them on the first night.” My father clapped his hands. “Perfect! Let them rest! Knox at dinner I will tell you stories of your Luna here who was a real throne in my paw.”

After resting for a bit, my parents had dinner on the table and my father was already filling Knox with stories. Lydia and my mother were chatting about mates. My brother smiled at me “Knox has told me that you’re doing great as a luna for the blood moon pack.” I looked up at him “I’m doing my best, thought sometimes it seems over baring but I know I have to keep my head up and keep going no matter what.” He placed his hand on my shoulder “sometimes that’s all you can do. You never know what life is going to throw at you, you just have to keep your head up high and push forward.” I knew he was right and I knew what I had to do when I find Ryder. It was all or nothing now.
