Chapter Four- Back

445 Words
When I wake up, Robin is snuggled close to me, his head on my chest. Olivia is no where to be seen. I gently move Robin's head onto the pillow, doing my best not to wake him, before climbing out of bed and going to the kitchen. Olivia is there, staring at her computer. "Everything okay?" I ask, placing a hand on her shoulder. She nods, putting her hand over mine. "Everything's okay, baby. Everything's great, actually. I've found him." She turns the computer toward me, and there it is. His new address, his real name, his phone number... everything. I read over the information carefully before saying the name out loud. "Arthur Lewis... it makes him sound so... human." Olivia nods and squeezes my hand reassuringly. "That's all he is, Matty. He's just a disgusting human who did awful things to you. We can take him down." "If we have his address, we should just burn his house down after locking it up tight." Robin's voice shocks me. I didn't hear him get out of bed. "No, pet," Olivia responds, beckoning for him to approach her. He does, and he sits next to her. "We're not going to do that. Besides... I think he might have taken a new slave." "How do you know that?" I ask, looking at the information she has on the screen. There's nothing about that. Olivia takes a deep breath and turns to face me. "Remember that article? The boy that was mentioned that he saved from the car?" I nod. "The boy's parents died, and he had no relatives. Arthur offered to 'take him in.'" She puts air quotes around the last bit, and I feel my heart catch. He has another slave. Another victim. What is that boy going through while we're standing here talking about him? "We need to go get him," I say, turning before Olivia can respond. I go into our room and start getting dressed. Olivia enters a second after, looking concerned. "Matt, are you sure you're ready for this? I don't want you to rush into this..." I shake my head. "I'm ready. I can't wait here knowing that some other kid is going through what I went through. Get dressed. We're leaving ASAP." My own voice seems foreign to me. I'm not usually like this toward Olivia. She gives me the orders, not the other way around. But this time, she doesn't say anything about it. Instead, she calls to Robin to get ready, then starts getting ready herself. After a few minutes, we all stand in the kitchen, staring at each other for a moment before I say, "Let's go."
