"Where are you going?" I asked, frowning, with my hands folded across my chest. "You mean where are we going?" He snorted, arranging his things into a bag. "This hotel was for me to stay for the night. It's a very sad, infuriating and annoying situation but I'm leaving to go home. The bad part of it is that I'm going home with you." "Of course, you are." I'd have loved to smirk at his helplessness but I was still so mad at his confession from last night. Did he truly have someone that was pregnant with his child? What would I do if it was true? Calm down, Kea. It's just a lie, a crazy lie. "Think you can fool me?" I snorted again. He sent a questioning look to me. "Fool you about what? If you decide to stay back here and not go home, it's totally fine by me. I own this hotel so you can literally live here alone for as long as you want." "Not that. You think you can fool me about being the father to an unborn child." I reached for an apple on the table, taking a bite of it. "Do you seriously think it's a joke?" The seriousness he demonstrated made my brain rotate into molten state and my heart fainted in fear. There was no way it could be true. "I'm a great Playboy. You have called yourself into the embrace of your wrath because I can't stop being one and I won't accept you as my wife, except on social media and to others." "Asshole! I swear, I won't believe anything you say. We're married and you'd have to accept it. You were a playboy but that'll have to change because you're now married to me. I promise to make your life a living hell if you don't comply with what I desire." I said. "You're really... confident in yourself." He lowered his eyebrows, searching behind me for something then reached for an envelope, placing it in his luggage. "By the way, I married you because I love you. There are benefits to that and one of those benefits include the fact that you're rich." Jeez girl, can't you just get to the main point? "I'd love for you to enroll me into college. No, wait." "College?" Amidst a frown, there was interest. "Wait. I applied for admission into a college, I got admitted, I managed to borrow money from someone to pay for the necessary fees, I ought to start next week. All I need you to do is to complete my fees, give me enough money then… I'll start going to college from Next week." I munched another bite of my Apple. "I'll give it to you." The stern look on his face was starting to irritate me. "I'm not giving you because you're my wife but because it means I'll get to be away from you for a couple of hours." I didn't think about that. All I needed to do at the moment was to get home, have a nice sleep, arrange everything I needed for college, eat, talk to Adalyn, eat, watch a movie (maybe with Kaiden; doubt if that was ever happening), sleep. *** I didn't know why I was feeling nervous to go into college. Was everything well with me? Nope. "We're here, ma'am." Seth Jones, my recently appointed driver, said. My stupid husband didn't bother to drive me to college on my first day. What should I've expected? "I know." I scanned him in annoyance. Did he think I was blind or something? "I'll go in when I'm ready." Woah, rude tone. "I'm sorry." He sheepishly apologized, returning to stare at the car wheel blankly. I wasn't going to keep on sitting in my gorgeously beautiful and obviously expensive car. I had to go in. Lecture was going to start soon. I unlocked the car's door then got out of it. I knocked on the tinted windows of the passenger seat and it was whined down. "You can leave. I'll call you if I need you to come." I smiled at him; a way to not make him think I was a rude-a*s b***h by my last comment. "Okay, thank you." He grinned, igniting the car's rocking engine back to life. I pivoted, holding onto my bag's straps really tight. I knew I was looking so dashing; I was wearing one of the most expensive clothing, being the wife of a billionaire. I kept walking, feeling all eyes on me as I walked. I wished there was a back door I could sneak into because the nervousness cooking up in me was making me all sweaty. I was greeted by a cheerful voice after I stepped into the Hall of the building, "Hello?!" I flinched. My eyes travelled to a beautiful brunette with her curly hair tied up into a ponytail. She was grinning from ear to ear as she waved at me. "Hi?" I looked around before proceeding to where she stood, leaning against a locker. "I'm Beth Mark. I'll tell you to shut the f**k up if you dare to introduce yourself. I know you and I love you." She reached out for my hand, grasping it. I giggled as she began to run, running with me. How could anyone be this– jovial. The eyes of people were fixed on us as she ran, tugging me all the way with her. When she stopped running, in front of the high black wood doors that led to a class, she stopped and then turned to me, as we were both panting. "You're for physics class, right?" She asked. "Judging from my Time table, yes." I nodded then she squealed. Her ebullient nature was a great aid in washing away my nervousness. I laughed. "This is the class. Let's go in. It's good to be late for the earliest class today, right?" She nudged my arm with her elbow, slinging an arm around my shoulders. We were of the same height level as it seemed. We burst into laughter, opening the door. We froze from the daggers being shot at us by the supposed Physics Lecturer or Professor. "It definitely is a very great time to laugh when you're late for my class!" He shouted. "We're sorry Sir." Beth apologized, smiling at him like an innocent child. "I'll pardon you both, just for today. Get in!" The strictness in his tone subsided. Beth's arm left around my shoulders then we walked to take our seats on two empty chairs side-by-side in the middle-row. I wasn't exactly sure but the Lecturer seemed to be staring at me lustfully as I took my seat. My doubt was confirmed positive when he didn't stop staring at my whole body even after we were seated. I frowned, irritated by it then shifted in my seat. He cleared his throat. "I'm Mr. Stanley, your Physics Professor." After that, he stopped leering at me. "Psst, hello?" A dude by my side tapped me. I turned to him and his grin caught me in an instant. "I'm George Queen." Funny name for a guy that good-looking. "I'm Kealey Tatum–" I paused, remembering I was married to Kaiden. "–Kealey Coleman." "Great. It's nice to meet you. Hi, Beth." He waved at her. "Hi." She waved back. "You should maintain silence while you're in my class!" Mr. Stanley warned through gritted teeth and we fell silent. There it was again, that lustful stare. Didn't he realize that he was making it so obvious? "It seems like that Professor has something for you." Beth teased, nudging my shoulder and I rolled my eyes at her. *** College was very great today. I had a lot of fun. Having Beth and George with me was so great. We ate together, talked, did a lot of fun things and they showed me around. It was a great first day. "Are you home now?" I said into the phone. "Yes, I'll be leaving soon. I have to attend to something." Adalyn said and I heard her yawn. "I'll be there in a jiffy. I need to take all of my stuff from there." I smiled, opening the door to the back seat of my car. "I'll be expecting you. Ensure you bring something great for me. You're now the wife of a Billionaire so I'm no longer the rich one, which means that you'll give me a gift for your Wedding, not me." She laughed. "You're dumb. I'll try, if I remember." With a smile glued to my lips, I instructed Seth on where to take me to and he hit the road. *** Exhaling and inhaling six times, I summoned the courage to go for a knock on the door. Please don't be Layla. Please, please, please, please. The door handle bent, and the door slung inwards. Glad it wasn't Layla, I pulled Adalyn into a hug. "I missed you." "Kilon se ọkan yii? (Meaning: What's wrong with you?)" s**t! It was the Yoruba alter, Kemi. Adalyn had an alter that spoke Yoruba language which we didn't understand. It sounded nice but it was difficult to communicate with her. I pulled away from the hug. "Hi. I thought it was Adalyn. I'm sorry." "Gbogbo eleyi jẹ idiwọ gan o. (Meaning: This is so frustrating)." She rolled her eyes. I couldn't process her words so I slowly walked in. Damn! I was going to have to talk to Layla. I wasn't feeling good about seeing her yet. I found my way to sneak into our room. A smile spread my lips apart when she wasn't in there. I started packing some of my things from the wardrobe. I was surprised to see that most of my stuff was already arranged into a bag. "Oh, she's here." I stiffened. Layla. I turned around with a nervous smile. She shook her head in disgust, walking in. "Why the hell did you get married to Kaiden?" She started with the questions. I swallowed hard. "I wanted to—" She interrupted me with a loud gasp. "Are you crazy? You're a total illiterate in the mess you've summed yourself up to." "It doesn't matter what mess. I love Kaiden and I married him on my own choice. You should be happy for me rather than telling me stories." I frowned. She shouted, "I can't be happy for you when you've ruined your life. What sort of crazy step did you take? I was to marry him but I left. Gosh, I should've just married him rather than letting you ruin your poor life…" "Wait. You're jealous. You badly want to marry him, that's why you feel bad that I married him." I pointed my index finger to her, frowning as hard as ever. Kealey, please keep quiet. Don't say anything stupid. My inner-mind kept telling me that but I wasn't ready to listen. "Are you crazy?" "I'm not. You are. I can't believe this. Ah." I huffed. "Is this why you've been warning me not to marry Kaiden? Is it because you love him too?" I slapped a hand to my chest and gasped. "This is so shocking! Is this why Henry broke up with you? Was he the man you were having interest in?" "Kealey, you're crazy. I promise you if you utter any more pissing words, I'll send you out of this house right this instant." She screamed, increasing the volume of her voice at every word. "Why not? I deserve an explanation from you. You always tell me to stay away from him but you never give me a good reason.." My frown transformed to a pool of sadness. "Layla, why are you never happy for me?" She jerked her gaze to me, squinting her eyes. "You never support anything I do." Tears began to trickle down my face. "You're only saying these words because of Kaiden." Her voice was rigid. She clenched her fists by her sides, nibbling on her lower lip. "Get out! Now! Take everything that belongs to you and leave here. You disgust me." I immediately gained my senses back. "Layla, I'm sorry." I realized that I might have said a little bit too much. "I said OUT!" She repeated, panting. Her anger was so evident; she was panting and very sweaty. I reached for my luggage, stopping to take a glance at her before leaving the room. "Goodbye." I said to anyone that was present in the body. The speed at which I moved was so much that I could fall if I stumbled on a piece of paper. Returning to my car, Seth was already out and he helped me with arranging my baggage into the car's trunk. I settled into the car then Seth did the same, starting the car. "Take me home." *** I kept pondering on different things as Seth drove me home. What exactly was Layla's problem? Was I truly in the wrong? Was it a crime to marry someone you desperately love? Had I made a stupid decision by getting married to Kaiden? I didn't get enough time to think about my decision! Arriving at the conclusion that it was best if I stopped thinking about it, I got out of the car after Seth parked it. "Please bring my luggage in later tonight." I instructed, taking my school bag with me. "Thank you." He nodded. I shambled my way to the heavy doors of the building, slipped my phone out of my bag to check for the message of the code to unlock the door. That was the only message Kaiden and I had texted. I unlocked the door with the code then waited before the door was opened. Exhaling deeply and fixing my gaze to the black-tiled floor, I continued to stagger my way in. The living room was way too big for me to have sprawled onto a couch yet so I still had to walk a bit before doing that. My jaw dropped to my feet and my eyes popped out when I raised my head. Kaiden was on a couch and he had a couple of women hanging around him. "Kaiden!" I screamed. "Hi, my wife's back." He smiled then jumped to his feet, striding to meet me, with a woman by his right arm. "What's all this?" I pouted, squeezing every muscle of my face with my fists clenched. "These are some of the women I'm having fun with tonight." He waved his hands around the women, placing his other hand on the woman that held onto his shoulder. "And this," he smiled at the woman and she batted her eyelashes. "This is Ally, the woman that's carrying my baby." OMG! Kill me.
