CHAPTER NINE Early the next morning, Keira got up first and left her room to take a shower. She saw her mom had moved from the couch. The blanket lay discarded, her wine glass left on the coffee table. Keira showered and headed back into her bedroom, waking Cristiano up. He was a groggy as usual in the morning, and seemed to sleep walk his way out her room and to the shower. While he was gone, Keira dressed in her comfortable travel clothes, dried her hair with a dryer, and put on some makeup. Then she wrote her mom a note saying goodbye, thanking her for her hospitality, and placed it on the coffee table. Cristiano came into the living room then, leaving a trail of drips behind him as he scurried into her room. Unlike Keira, it took him about five minutes to get ready after a shower, w
