4. The Date

Manik buttoned his shirt properly and applied the cologne perfectly and winked at himself.

No one is in the house and there can be no perfect day to go for a date. How lucky you are Manik Malhotra

He self praised himself and pulled his own cheek to which a voice disturbed his self-love session.

"Chachu!! Aap kahi jaa rahe ho?" He smiled brightly at the mirror "Haan ji Chachu ki jaan! I am going on a date with Chachi! To a restaurant!" And he again winked at himself for looking so handsome.

"Eee!! Pehle batana tha na Nitara ko! Nitara abhi ready hoke aati hai!" And she ran away without even giving him a chance to say something.

"What? No!!" He shouted and ran behind her to the room to see her already decked in a frock.

"What! Baby aapko frock kisne pehnaya? Mumma Papa toh nahi hai?" Nitara giggled "Cabir Chachu nee!"

"Cabirrr!" He gritted his eyes and searched for Cabir everywhere just to find him in the Kitchen arranging Nitara's Barbie bag.

"Cabir!! Wtf are you doing?" Cabir turned to face him and winked "Aur bano Nitara ke fav Chachu!! Manik Malhotra can just go nowhere without his baby princess na? Toh jao aaj bhi!"

Manik made a disheveled face "Wth Cabir? What do you want?"

"Aapka new phone!" Cabir shouted from behind and went inside Nitara's room to get back her Barbie bag.

"Mr. Cabir Vansh Malhotra, it's of 56,000!!" He screamed from behind and Cabir giggled.

Arnav came out hearing the shouts  "Bhai, kuch hua hai kya?" He kept a hand on his shoulder to which Manik hugged him tightly and started crying "This Cabir is so evil!! I was about to go on a date with Nandini and he has informed Nitara about it. I mean I only did but he's supporting her and all!" Arnav chuckled and caressed his back "Accha! We will make Nitara understand!" And both walked towards Nitara's room with a hope.

All they saw when they entered her room was her happy face and a jumping Nitara "Chachu!! Jaldi Chalo na! I wanna have those noodles!! Yipeee!" Manik's heart sank in saying a no to her and he glared at Cabir who smiled at him genuinely "Nitara baby! Manik Chachu wants to spend some alone time with Chachi! You come with Cabir Chachu!" Nitara pouted "Is Nitara disturbing then?"

Manik literally ran to her and hugged her "No baby! Nitara is the sweetest of all but today I wanted to talk to your Chachi on bade logon ka topic!" Nitara who had already dreamt of eating Chicken Manchurian with her favorite Garlic Noodles pushed him and lied on the bed "NO!! Nitara will come too!!" And in no time, she started crying hard. Manik and Cabir felt very bad and started consoling her when a call disturbed them "Arnav please take it na!" He moved towards Nitara "Chachu ki Jaan! At least listen to me baccha!"

"Haa bhabhi wo bhai is a little busy!" Arnav spoke in a little slow voice to which Nandini nodded with a half heart, waiting near her home when she heard Nitara's wail and the call got disconnected.

"Nitara! Manik.. s**t! Is everything fine?" She quickly took a rickshaw and reached Malhotras' home.

In no time, she reached Nitara's room and panted hard "Manik?"

Manik quickly turned towards the door and sighed "Nandini!"

"Why is she crying and where are the others?" She asked Arnav who said "Actually, everyone is out for a wedding and she wanted to come with Manik when she got to know about your date!" Nandini made an O face on the problem and smiled at him who gave her a helpless smile.

"Nitara! Come to Chachi baccha!" She sat beside Nitara and took her in her lap "What happened to my pretty girl? Why is she crying?"

"I want t..to come.. aap logon ke saath.. But Manik Chachu said no!" She looked at Manik who sadly looked at her "Are baby! Chachu was kidding!! Nitara is coming with Chachu and Chachi and that's it!"

"Sacchi Chachi?" Nitara's cries all went away and her lips broke into a smile which relieved Manik and the other two guy a big time and they smiled at Nandini.

"Mucchi baccha! Chalo!! Abb Nitara ko thora sajaenge tab tak Chachu, aap car nikaliye!" Manik, with a confused smile walked outside and found Nandini following him, with a chirping and happy Nitara telling her something.

"She's so beautiful and so pretty from heart!" Manik thought to himself and smiled when Nandini's giggle broke his trance "Chaliye! Nitara baby is very hungryy!"

And in the whole care ride, all he could hear was Nitara's laughs which filled his heart with utmost joy. She was the best chachi to her.

The trio went inside a restaurant and had food and then ice-cream. Soon after, Nitara fell asleep in Nandini's arms only and she made her lie on her lap and looked at Manik "Abb aap batayiye, aapko kya kya karna that date pe!" Manik smiled and his eyes blinked at her "Tum kitni perfect ho!" Nandini blushed and looked down when suddenly he held her arms "I seriously want to be with only you.. You are so good Nandini..!" She caressed his palm over hers and smiled "Aap bhi bohot acche hai Manik and I feel so special to be your fiancee!" He smiled at her and tied a Raga watch on her hand "Yeh?"

"Yeah! I wanted to gift this to you on our Roka but.. Never mind! This is for you!" Nandini smiled brightly  "This is so pretty Manik! Thank you so much!! But I have nothing to gift you!"

"Are? You gifted me Nitara's smile after her cries.. She was just our of control yaar!" She giggled and he slowly moved a spoon of ice-cream from his bowl and she, blushingly ate it and made him eat too.
