Alpha Nate
"Damn, your mate is hot as hell," Cole exhaled as he watched her swimming with her sister and mine. Duke let out a growl, not liking his eyes on our mate.
"Eyes to yourself," I ordered and he chuckled.
"Worried you have competition?" He wiggled his brow and I threw my towel at him.
"Fucker," I grumbled, and the boys laughed. We were sitting in lounge chairs around the pool. After what happened earlier, I won't be able to leave Ayla's side.
"I don't appreciate you looking at my sister like that," I snapped as I looked over at Mitch. He was basically drooling.
"And I don't think the alpha appreciates you putting a baby in his daughter," he retorted without taking his eyes off Ruby.
"Touché, motherfucker," I shook my head.
"I still can't believe you're having a kid," Caleb, Cole's twin, said.
“Yeah,” I exhaled as I turned my attention to my mate. She was laughing and splashing around with Rosie.
"So, does anyone want to talk about what happened with Bailey?" Max stated. Mitch grumbled, hanging his head.
"It's not your fault, man." I patted him on the back.
"I thought she was doing better. This came out of nowhere," he sighed.
"I can't understand why she is so obsessed with you, Nate. It's not like she hasn't been with the rest of us," David pointed out.
"f**k, I need new friends," Mitch growled.
"Still got me," I gripped his shoulder. "And I can use a gamma."
It wasn't long after when Luna Thea came out holding a crying baby. She looked exhausted as she held the boy to her chest.
"There is no way I can leave you with them," she told my mate, who was still in the pool with her daughter and my sister.
"Can I see him?" Ayla swam to the edge and held out her arms.
"But this is my time," Rosie pouted.
"Swim with Ruby for a minute while I help your mommy with your brother," she told the little girl.
"Are you sure?" Thea looked worried as she knelt by Ayla.
"I would never let anything happen to him."
The guys and I watched intently as my mate took her tiny brother and held him against her chest above the water. Ayla's movements had them swaying in the water, and it didn't take long before the boy was calm and sleeping in her arms.
"You are never allowed to leave," Thea announced. "How did you do that?"
"This little guy just enjoys the water, and they say it mimics the movements in the womb." Ayla shrugged. "But now that you know I can handle this, go have fun, or go have a nap."
"I think I'm going to nap. I don't want your father ever to touch me again," Thea huffed and Ayla chuckled.
"Lay him down, and we will be right in," she smiled up at the Luna as she handed her baby back.
"But I want to keep swimming," Rosie pouted.
"Oh you better not have a girl," Mitch teased as we watched.
"You still need to eat, Miss Mermaid Princess. And there is also a mermaid princess movie we could watch," Ayla sang out, and her little face lit up. Ruby let out a groan before swimming over and hugging my mate.
"Mom has been doing research, and now I have to go to the store with her. Prepare yourself, sister." Mitch stood up and went to help her out of the pool and I looked away. I didn't want to see or know anything about what they had done. He may be her mate, but he was my best friend, and she is my sister.
Ayla scooped up her sister and shifted back before climbing the stairs of the pool in her dress. Every time I saw her wearing it, I was in awe. The colors were always changing. Ignoring my friends, I stood up and met her at the pool's edge. I wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close.
"I don't think I will ever get used to that," I mumbled, kissing her cheek.
"So, pretty," Rosie exclaimed.
"So, so, pretty," I mimicked and Ayla laughed.
"Alright, you two lovebirds, we are out," David announced. "Nate, are we still on for tomorrow?" I quickly looked at Ayla. I was up until the s**t with Bailey.
"Nate, you should go. I'll be fine. You could even have some of your warriors watching me." She placed her free hand on my bare chest.
"Our warriors." I corrected. "Yeah, I'll see you guys tomorrow," I sighed.
"See, that wasn't so hard now, was it?" she giggled.
"It is if you get hurt," I grumbled.
We walked into the pack house and up to the alpha floor. Ayla took Rosie to take a bath and to get changed. I walked into Atlas while I was going to check on the boys.
"Sleeping?"
"Thank the goddess. It's been a long night with them," he sighed.
"You two can just go sleep on the beta floor while Ayla and I watch the kids tonight. It can't be easy with two," I told him as we walked into the living room.
"I thought Rosie was a handful."
"Well, you are an old man now," I chuckled and his chest rumbled.
"That's my sexy old man," Thea commented as she entered the living room.
"I'm not old," the alpha pouted, causing his Luna to giggle.
"We should go get ready if we are going to make that reservation."
They walked away together while I took a seat on the couch, waiting for my mate and her sister to be done, so we could watch a movie. I'm sure by the time we leave in a few days, I will have the movie memorized.
"It's not a bad thing, Nate. If we have a daughter, we will be playing princesses with her," Duke grinned. I could picture him wearing a crown and cape.
"I'd be happy either way, buddy."
