Three

(3rd person P.O.V)

5 years later

Five years, it has been five years since Ethan started this project. He works hard day and night, and after five years, his dream is finally coming true. These five years he has come up with many ideas for virtual gaming but almost every idea was rejected by the shareholders except one - "Crime Lords Online" His dream project is almost over, and the workers are doing the last touch-up of the machine and cleaning up the floor he is standing in his office and sees the workers cleaning the area.

"You haven't gone home yet," David said, walking inside his office.

"What is the use of going home if I wasn't able to sleep scared that when I wake up again, it all will disappear like a dream, that it has never happened in reality," Ethan said, still looking at the workers with a smile on his face.

"I can understand your feeling, but you need to get rest since you are going to lead the game, in the virtual world and with your team, and you need rest so that you can concentrate on the game and get them out of there safely," David reasons with him.

"I know, I just want to check everything, one last time, before going home so that everything goes according to the plan," Ethan said, still looking down at that area, through his window.

"Okay, then I will take my leave," David said and was about to get out of the room, but Ethan stopped him.

"Chief," Ethan said, this time turning around to look at him.

"Yes," David said, looking at him.

"Thank you so much for everything you did for me," he said, smiling at him.

"No, thank you for not letting me down and standing up to my expectations. I have always known that you are a genius," David said, smiling at him and walking out of his office.

When the workers leave after completing their work, Ethan walks to the research area and does the last check-up to make sure everything is done according to his plan and leaves for home.

The next day, every person in the office who is selected for the first test of the game is gathered inside the lobby, talking with each other.

"I am glad that the game system we were told to finish is finished," Eric said with a sign.

"Yeah, me too, that was the most complicated software I have ever designed," Eva said, agreeing with her friend.

"But that's why we are at the top of the gaming world because we have handled the most complicated games Software the world has ever made," Sammy off Sam said, trying to cheer her friends up.

"Come to think of it, I have heard that we are going to have a meeting with the chief about the new projects," Elliot said to his friend.

"New project?" Sam asks him.

"Oh right, Ethan has been working on these projects for many years, and he plans to announce it in this meeting," Lena informed them.

"What is it?" Sam asks her.

"It's virtual gaming," David, their chief, said, walking towards them.

"Virtual gaming?" Chris asks, confused.

"It's not just any ordinary game where you use remote control. It's where you are already inside the game and enhancing the virtual city," the chief explained to them.

"Right, Ethan?" The chief asked when he saw Ethan walking towards them, and he hummed at him.

"This virtual gaming has been processed and designed for many years. Now it is ready to be turned into virtual gaming for everyone to experience what virtual life feels like," Ethan said to them.

"When you say, get to experience inside, you mean actual humans inside the game?" Elliot asks him.

"Like teleporting to the virtual world?" Chris asks him.

"Everyone comes to the conference room. There I will explain to you guys everything," Ethan said and led them all to the conference room. Everyone walks inside the conference room and takes their seats.

"Cheif is everyone who is going with me here?" Ethan asks David.

"Yes, Ethan, you can proceed with your explanation," David said to him.

"Good, we have come up with a machine that can teleport you into a virtual world, and we have designed that world that way that feels like real," Ethan explains to them with the pictures power slides.

"You will be given a band, in that band, there will be two buttons, one power button, and one speaker button, if you feel anytime to quit the game, you can press the power button to teleport back to the real world, you will also be given an ear pricing so that we can communicate with each other, use speaker button given in the band to communicate others. You will be given colourful specks that have the whole map of the game so that if anyone gets lost, they can find their way back to us. In no circumstance are you allowed to take your band or ear prices out of your body, did I make myself clear," Ethan asks them in a stern voice, and they nodded their head at him.

"But what is the game about?" Chris asks him.

"That's come to my favourite question. It's a game about how a small group of gang members clears the many levels and become the ferest mafia gang in the world," Ethan said, smiling at them. The boys grin, looking at each other while the girls groans at it.

"What happens if we get hurt or worst, we die since it's a dangerous game?" Elliot asks him.

"When you get hurt, you get hurt in the virtual world but not in the real world," Ethan said to them.

"What?" Sam asks, confused by his explanation.

"This band has features that make you feel pain in the particular places you get hurt, by sending the signals to your brain that you are hurt, but in reality, you are not hurt, and if you die in the game. You get teleported back to the real world, and the system will create the scenery of your dead body to make the virtual peoples mind that you are dead," Ethan explains to them.

"Do you understand now?" Ethan asks when he doesn't get any reaction from his friends.

"Not everything but a little bit of it," Sam said to him, still confused.

"It's all right. You will understand when you experience it," she said, smiling at her.

"You know we need to have a leader as every gang has a leader to guide it, so in all of us, who is it?" Elliot asks him.

"Me," Ethan said to him.

"Why it had to be you? Why not from one of us?" Elliot asks him, pointing his hand over his friends.

"Because I said so, do you have any problem with it?" David asks him in a stern voice.

"No, chief," Elliott said, gulping the bulb from in his throat in fear.

"Good then, shall we begin?" David asked them, and he nodded her head at him. Ethan takes the lead and leads them to the area where they will teleport themselves. He goes and does some work while David distributes them all the things they are going to need in the virtual world. They put their bands in their hand, then put the earpiece in their ear.

"Okay, I need you all to go finish one of the pillars select your weapons and clothes and stand between those pillars," Ethan said, pointing his finger towards the pillar, and they do that. He selects his clothes and weapons using the computer.

He gives some instructions to his fellow colleagues about do's and don'ts and how to handle things if something goes wrong behind his back. Four large screens in the hall show the world inside the game. Everything that happens in the game will be shown on the screen. He gets all the things he needs from David, wears them, and walks towards their friends.

"I almost forgot to inform you, we will have the same name and appearance in the virtual world that we have in a real world, okay," he asks them, and they all say okay to him.

"Are you all ready?" David asks him.

"Yes, chief," they all shouted excitedly at the same time. David nodded his head at them and pressed enter to send them into a virtual world.

Important note: I am going to write the virtual world and the natural world to indicate what was happening simultaneously and so that you can differentiate between both worlds and don't get confused with it. So please don't get irritated with me or it.
