“What do you mean they left? Left to where?”, Maria asked Rosa.
“Don took his wife on a date a couple of hours ago”, Rosa said as she rolled her eyes. Maria was a pest.
Maria eyes popped out.

It could only mean that they were falling in love or that they could be planning to consummate their relationship.
“Do you have any details on where they are?”, she asked Rosa.
