Stella hastily programmed the GPS as Maxwell drove out of the studio and onto the main road. They were going directly from the studio to interview Barbs, who’d been the first of the two friends to answer when she called. Barbs had sounded eager to speak to them and had said she would be waiting for them at her home.
“I hope Barbs will be able to explain what really went on at Spirit Spin,” Stella said.
“I didn’t know what to make of that setup,” Maxwell agreed. “I didn’t feel Trevor was speaking to me, or even really noticing me, at all. You know, sometimes women feel they’re invisible. I have had a few witnesses mention that to me but I never knew how it felt until now,” he said thoughtfully.
