Chapter 12

[ Garrett ] Thankfully Willis was not in my office when I arrived so I was able to take the shower I so desperately needed. The King was right; I already looked like a ruffian even with my uniform, I didn’t need to smell like one too. My shower was quick, the water cool and the experience uninterrupted. I use my fragranced soap. I wasn’t one for such things but Willis would like it. If anyone asked about the lavender scent I would just wink and smile, implying an encounter that was entirely carnal. Regardless I could have a hotter shower later, or even soak in the hot spring baths beneath the castle, Ye Gods knew my muscles needed it. Clean and dressed in a fresh Captains’ uniform, the subtle calming smell of lavender rising from my skin, I sat at my desk and began catching up. Transfers, reports, guard rotations, letters, recommendations - they all needed reading, signing, actioning and filing. If the prestige weren’t so edifying I would have left the position on the basis of the paperwork volume alone. It had been a couple of hours spent wading through the stacks of documents in my sparse office before there was a tell tale knock at my door. Three rapps, a pause and one final knock. Willis. “Enter!” I called finishing a report with my signature, the pen uncomfortable in my cramping hand. “You requested my attendance, Captain.” Willis stated after stepping into the office. They weren’t in uniform, which was my preference considering their skill set. “Yes, I have an assignment for you.” I gestured for Willis to sit. With a roll of their slim shoulders and one hand raking through short powder blue hair they sat. I looked into the eyes in front of me. They were bright and excitable. “Sorry Willis, you’re probably going to be bored out of your mind. I need you to play escort to the ‘Lady’ in the Turquoise Suite.” “Oh, you mean ‘Lady Esther’?” Willis replied with a mischievous smile. “That’s the one. What do you already know?” I snorted and set the remaining papers to one side. “Hummm, what do I know…” Willis toyed. A bit too much Fae in this one I think; always ready to play and tease. “Alright, alright I see you’re not in the mood Captain. I overheard a few snippets on my way in but nothing informative enough.” “Lady Esther, as she is calling herself, is the Blue Shadow. Apparently Taiya has a more skilled shifting ability then she let on. I need you to be her escort in the grounds and castle. Become an invaluable friend. Eat when she eats, sleep when she sleeps; until further notice you will be her ‘blue shadow’.” “To think, I thought you lacked a sense of humour Captain.” Willis chuckled. “Is this in pursuit of the Remnant?” “It is, this is why I want you on it. You are the best.” I nodded sincerely. Willis was very talented. “Are we sure she has it? And why is the King allowing her to parade around the castle, acting like nobility.” Willis quired, serious for once. “I am certain she has it and I think the King is either playing along or actually believes her. As usual with His Majesty I can’t be sure.” I rolled my eyes. I wouldn’t normally behave so unprofessionally but this was Willis and we were often very unprofessional. “Did you know she could do a full shift?” Willis gave me a dark look. “We all have our secrets.” They stared through me giving nothing away. “I suppose we do.” I agreed. “So play nice, keep an eye on her and see if I can pick up where you failed.” Willis laughed, closing the topic I had tried to open. "So… who are we today?" I asked, ignoring the jibe. "Jo." Willis replied with a wiggle of well shaped eyebrows. "Just Jo or would that be Joseph or Josephine?" I smiled while Willis relaxed back in the chair, a hint of mischief in their own smile. "Definitely Joseph today." He licked his teeth. I got up and, opening the door, flipped the plate to 'do not disturb' before closing it softly and turning the lock. "So it seems like you might have a type…" He pouted while I rubbed his slender shoulders through the loose fitting shirt. "Huh?" "All things blue?" He hinted, turning his head to face me and licking his lips. "What's not to like about blue? Would you want it a different way?" I kissed his nose sweetly. "It's all right I'll be what you want, what you need." He whispered with a sadness that was very unlike him. I pulled back from the soft kisses I was planting across his face only to find a different face looking back at me. Taiya’s face - well the image of it, it wasn’t like Jo could physically transform like she did. “Does that not please you, Captain?” Jo mimicked her voice perfectly but not the way she spoke. Taiya’s mannerisms were not for polite company. “No.” I ran my hand through the short blue hair I knew was under the image of wild, tight black curls that he was showing me. What had brought this on, I wondered? It wasn’t like Willis and I were exclusive. I wasn’t even into Taiya all that much. Maybe in another life. Sure she was wild and spicy but Ye Gods the mouth on her. Was Jo jealous? “How about this?” He shimmered, eyes glowing a light blue briefly, mimicking another familiar face. King Leoré. I swallowed thickly at the sight of the King’s intense grey eyes and thick luscious beard. I couldn’t lie to myself and say I wasn’t tempted but the circumstances of Jo’s display would make it unfair of me to indulge. Maybe some other time; when roll play had been agreed in advance. I was quite tempted for a spanking from the King. "When have I ever not wanted it to be you? The you, you want to be. Do you not want to be Joseph today?” I pressed my thumbs harder into the knots that had formed in Jo’s shoulders and rubbed my cheek against his. “You say the sweetest things Captain.” He murmured, relaxing at my touch. I sucked his earlobe and kissed his neck causing him to breathe deeply. I could see the bulge between his legs, it inflamed my own arousal. “There is nothing sweeter than your moans when I’ve got my big fat c**k in you, Joseph.” I growled seductively, using his name to emphasise that it was him that I wanted. Joseph quivered in anticipation. I nipped at his neck and ran my hand firmly down his chest before gripping his loose shirt. Joseph moved with me, raising his arms so I could take off his shirt. “I’m going to feast on you.”
