"Are you ready sweetie?" My dad asked. I have finally packed all my belongings after a few hours. Phew. That took some amount of time, let me tell you.
I'm moving house, not too far away, nearer to the college. It will be my first time ever living alone. Kiera is moving in with me next year, which won't be too bad. It's about half an hour away from home, but five minutes from the college. Madison is always so cold in winter, I was dreading it. Hopefully the apartment I'm moving into has heating.
"Bye Daddy, love you. Bye Sandy," I picked up my little sister giving her a massive hug and kiss. Then set her back into her pram. Sandy was only over a year old. We named her Sandra, after my mum.
"Are you positive you have everything River?" My dad, Toby, asked. I nodded my head, then kissed him on the cheek. Getting into my car, I took a final look at my home town. After admiring where I grew up, I headed off down the road.
I stopped off at Kiera's house on the way, she wanted to come stay with me for the first night. Which I didn't mind at all, I hated being alone anyway.
"Hey Kiera," I said, as she opened the passenger seat door and climbed in.
"Hey River," She greeted back, strapping herself in.
"Are you excited about the move?" She asked, as I took off again.
"I really am Kier, I mean it's a big move, but I feel as if I'm ready for it. Sandy and my dad will definitely be coming up to stay, and so will you, so I wont be completely alone," I said.
"Sandy is so cute, I wonder what happened to you," she teased.
"I don't know Kier," I laughed while saying this. Kiera was my bestest friend ever. She was their for me through everything, with my mum, and all.
We soon arrived at the apartment building, it was called Eagle Heights. It was a student accommodation building. The college I was attending was 'University Of Wisconsin-Madison'. The apartment block was in a great location, surrounded by woods, and next to 'Lake Mendota,' which I was stoked about.
Kiera helped me with my boxes and bags. She only had a small over night bag with her, so it was ok.
"Do you think Reece Collins will be going to this college?" She asked, excitement clear in her voice. I still hadn't told her about our one night stand, how could I when she was so excited about him attending the same college.
"I think he is, why?" Her eyes opened wide, full of hope. The guilt was eating me alive, I don't know how much longer I could keep it in.
"But who cares if he's here, right?" I made my best attempt of laughing casually, then stopped as soon as I realized how much I was failing. "Anyway," I coughed, "How about we go look inside," I smiled.
We walked through the main entrance. Waiting at reception, Kiera and I were spotting some of the good looking guys around, their wasn't many.
"How may I help you?" A middle aged woman came out, very pretty. She had black hair, dark skin, and a great body for her age.
"My names River Wild, my key never got sent out to me, so I was wondering if I could get it from here," I said as politely as I could. She smiled back at me.
"Of course you can." She went back on her computer. I'd say she was checking what apartment I was staying in.
"That's on the second last floor, number 150, enjoy," she said, smiling again. She handed me my keys.
"Come on Kier." I shook her shoulder gently.
We finally made it up to the top floor. Three guys helped us carry the boxes and bags up. None of them one against are really my type. What can I say? I'm picky when it comes to guys.
"So can I have your number, after helping you with all your stuff," A tall guy, wearing a black polo, with grey sweatpants. He looked familiar but I couldn't quite place him.
"Sure," I said, grabbing a pen I started writing my number on his hand.
"I'll be sure to use this." He winked at me then left with the other two.
"Thanks!" I shouted after them, just before the door slammed shut.
"So this is home for the next four year," I thought out loud. Taking in my surroundings. It was nice, very nice. The kitchen was small, but not too small. Their was a fire place, which I was delighted about, especially since we would be in winter soon. An old style television, A couch. Then their was a small bit of a hall, which had two bedrooms, and a bathroom. It wasn't massive, but big enough for me.
"It's great, I can't wait until I can join you next year!" I couldn't either, I knew I was going to be extremely lonely for this year.
"Me neither Kier," I said honestly.
dingding
Unknown Number : Hey, told you I would put this to good use x
Me : Who is this?
Unknown Number : You gave me your number earlier. Want to go to a party the weekend, my friend is throwing it. X
Me : Sure thing, see you their. Text me the details closer the time I'll only forget if you tell me now.
Unknown Number : Sure thing sweet cheeks. xx
I made sure not to give any 'X's'. I didn't find him attractive, so I wasn't the type of girl to lead someone on.
"Kier!" I shouted. She came out from the bedroom looking at me. "Do you want to go to a party the weekend?" I asked.
"Who's?" Aw no, I completely forgot to ask his name, shoot. He looked familiar though.
"I don't know, he said he'll text me on the details later, so I'll ask him then." We both laughed. How could I forget to ask his name?
Then their was a knock on the door, I was shocked when I saw the receptionist, with Reece Collins.
"Hey, River isn't it?" The receptionist said, a guilty expression on her face. I nodded slowly.
"Kiera isn't moving in until next year, am I right?" I nodded again. Taking a quick glance at Kiera, who was staring up at Reece, as if he was a piece of meat.
"I hope you don't mind, but Reece's apartment was flooded. How? I really don't know, it's only his first day. But until the plumber comes, which won't be until after Christmas, could he stay here." Her eyes pleaded with me, which made me want to say yes.
"YES!" Kiera immediately answered, before I even got a chance to speak.
"I don't know I me-," I was cut off after a few seconds.
"Thanks," He walked in, a small bag in hand, throwing himself on the sofa.
"Hi Reece," Kiera said. Immediately running over to sit next to him. He looked at her for a second, then smirked.
"Hey gorgeous, what's your name?" He winked, causing her to blush. I rolled my eyes and closed the door as soon as the receptionist left.
"Kiera," she giggled. He placed a hand on her thigh, which caused her to blush an even deeper shade of red.
Reece was incredibly attractive, I really don't know why he slept with me if I'm honest, but then again, why the hell did I sleep with him? Oh yeah, because I was a drunken fool.
"Well would Kiera like a kiss," he said huskily to her. She nodded her head eagerly, within seconds they were having a full make out session on my couch. I think I'm going to have a shower before my eyesight has been burned from me.
"I'm just going for a shower," I said, no answer. "Okay cool see you after."
I finished the shower, and stared at myself in the mirror. I don't know why, but I always felt self-conscious when I looked at myself completely naked. I mean, I had small breasts, no fun there. My bum, I suppose that was okay. As for my body, it was alright, nothing to freak out about. Tears began to fill my eyes as I thought about how much better all the other girls were, and how I looked like a potato. But I blinked them back as quick as they came. I haven't cried since my mum, and I most certainly am not going to cry now. Especially over something so stupid like a few insecurities. I got into my onesie, and made my way out to the kitchen.
Reece was putting back on his shirt, while Kiera was zipping up her jeans. I wonder what they did now, as if they didn't make it so obvious.
"That was amazing Reecey." Reece stopped what he was doing, anger raging his eyes.
"Don't ever, and I mean EVER, call me that again." He stormed into the bedroom, slamming the door behind him. Kiera looked at me, pure shock all over her face. I stared back.
"What is his problem?" I asked, but she just shrugged.
•~•~•
Both myself and Kiera were sharing a room tonight, which I obviously didn't mind.
"Do you like him?" I asked smirking at her, as her cheeks began to flush.
"I've always liked him River, and I really think he likes me too," she smiled to herself. I couldn't tell her. He didn't like her, he just wanted to get laid.
"We'll see how it goes, eh?" I said, while turning on my said and closing my eyes.
"I really don't know why he got so mad at me though, 'Reecey' isn't that bad of a name, is it?" She asked.
"Maybe he just doesn't like it?" I suggested, half asleep. Their was silence for a few moments, so I just took it that she was asleep.
"Night River."
"Night Kier."
Soon we were both sound asleep and snoring loudly, for the whole world to hear.
