"Thank you," I said, as his mum, Leah, handed me up a huge fry. We were going horse riding today, and the two guys were convinced that I wouldn't be able to.
"Morning," Reece came down, in nothing but a pair of sweats. Don't like his body River, don't look at his body. Too late. I didn't even know he worked out. He had defined muscles, all over. Going from his toned pecs, to his bulging triceps and biceps. The best thing? His muscular six pack, with that V line, leading down to his -.
"Are you okay?" He whispered into my ear, I didn't have to turn around to know he was smirking. I didn't answer, I just stayed blushing like crazy.
"So, when are ye going? And are you sure it's okay for you to go River, with your legs and all?" I know that she's just concerned, but this is what I was dreading. Reece and myself practised walking again today, and for a split second, I thought I felt something. It was probably just my imagination, but I couldn't help but feel a shimmer of hope.
"I'll be perfectly okay," I smiled.
"We're leaving soon, just have to wait for Junior to wake up," Reece said while pouring his tea.
"Reece was helping me to try and walk this morning," I blurted out. Why did I even say that? There was silence for a couple of moments.
"And, how did that go?" She asked slowly, as if debating on weather to ask or not.
"We have been trying for a while," god, it sounds like I'm on about having a baby. "But no luck," I looked down. "I'm sorry, I don't even know why I'm telling you this." I began panicking, they're going to think I'm so sad, I need to change the subject quickly. "How was Sandy last night? Usually she stays asleep like a log, I mean sometimes she gets noisy but you know, what can you do," I babbled on and on, until I was finally cut off.
"It's okay River," his mum said, placing a hand over mine. "We would love to help you walk as well." She smiled, a genuine smile. I smiled back with the same generosity.
"But seriously, how was Sandy last night."

"Man you are heavy." Reece was hoisting me up onto the horses back. She was gorgeous. All black.
"Hey, I have hardly been able to exercise now have I?" I retorted.
"I suppose not," he laughed. Once I was safely up and my legs put into stirrups and strapped so they wouldn't slip out, Reece climbed up on his own horse.
"We've given you a stick, because you can't use your legs, but don't use it hard." He looked so serious when saying that, these horses must be very special to them.
"You ready Junior?" He shouted back to his brother, who was hoisting himself up on his horse.
"One second," he said. "Is River alright?" He shouted. He mustn't have thought I was able to hear him.
"I'm fine," I shouted over, smiling.
"Not that I care." He huffed.
"Okay lesson one with horse riding," Junior began, but I had other ideas. "WAIT! RIVER!" He called after me, but too late. I was gone, free.
"You never told me you could ride?" Reece said, after catching up with me. His smile was wide, and real.
"You never asked," I shrugged. Smiling a big toothy grin.
"RIVER! WHAT THE HELL?" Junior came up, shouting. I burst out laughing.
"I told you didn't I? Don't underestimate me." I continued to laugh, his face was in pure shock.
"Humph," he huffed, continuing to ride his chestnut beauty.
"Reece, dya know where we should take her?" I was curious now, so I listened in.
"The forest?" He smiled.
"Yeah, she'd love it."
"Fancy going to the forest?" Reece winked, which sent butterflies throughout my stomach. What the hell? He winked River, get over it.
"Sure," I shrugged. I am not going to be like his fan base, melting over every wink.
We rode in a comfortable silence into the forest, I'd be lying if I said I was scared. Most girls would be terrified, being brought into a forest with two guys. But I wasn't scared, I felt free.
"So guys, where are we going exactly?" I shouted down.
"You'll see," Junior said.
Another couple of minutes riding in another comfortable silence, we arrived to the end of the forest. Their was a big massive wall, with branches growing up along it, and red flowers too. It looked beautiful.
"Is this is?" I asked, blown away by the beauty of it.
"Of course not." Reece jumped down from his horse, Junior following.
They went over to the wall together, and began pushing it. What were they doing now? I watched closely. As they continued to push, a section in the wall began to move. I watched as both of them continued to push and push, not giving up.
Once the wall moved they motioned for me to go in. I lightly tapped the stick on the back of the horse, to bring her to a move.
While going in, I was taken away. It was a huge lake, surrounded by grass, fields beyond fields surrounding it. It was beautiful. This would be gorgeous in summer time too.
"This," I breathed, looking around some more. "Is beautiful."
"I know." Junior trotted up next to me, looking out at the scenery too.
"B-but how did ye discover this?" I asked, not taking my eyes from the beautiful lake.
"We didn't, Reece brought me here," he shrugged, getting down from his horse.
"How did you discover it?" I asked, turning my head to face Reece.
"I was here a few times before they bought the house, and came across here," he shrugged, as if it was nothing. "But now we are going for a swim." In the middle of Christmas? Is he crazy?
"And you're coming," he pointed at me, laughing.
"I can't even walk," I crossed my arms over my chest.
I didn't have time to say anymore because Reece had me down off the horse before I got the chance. He ran over to the lake, me on his back.
"You ready!" I shouted back, so excited.
"Ready!" I shouted, bracing myself for the coldness of the winter water. Once we hit the water, I felt, warm? That can't be right, it's winter.
"What the?" I looked at Junior and Reece, who were in convulsions laughing at me.
"It's a warm lake, it was funny seeing your confused face though," Junior said, while patting my head. He began to walk away, but I splashed him with the water, which caused him to stop in his tracks, and turn to face me.
"You did not just do that?" The anger in his voice told me stop, but my heart told me to do it again. So of course, I went with my heart. And splashed him again.
"River?" I looked over to Reece, who was motioning for me to go over to him. So I did. Hold on... I walked?
"R-Reece?" I stuttered, looking down at my moving legs. Why was I able to walk in the water.
"River!! You're walking!" He exclaimed, practically jumping up and down.
"What?" Junior said, glancing down at my legs.
"I CAN WALK!" I screamed, loud enough for the universe to hear.
"Ssshhhh River, this is our secret place," he put a finger up to his lips, gesturing for me to shut up.
I couldn't believe it though, I had perfect use of my legs under the water. This was a fantastic early birthday present. Wait, it's my birthday tomorrow, I can't believe I completely forgot about it.
"Reece?" I can't believe it, I never asked what age he was.
"River?" He mimicked back, earning a glare from me.
"First, I don't talk like that," I stuck out my tongue at him, which he returned with a smirk. "Secondly, what age are you?"
"21," he shrugged. "Why? What age are you?"
"19, nearly 20," I shrugged, hoping he wouldn't ask when.
"When are you 20?" Reece you are an i***t.
"It doesn't really matter whe-,"
"River tell me?" He said, cutting me off in the process.
"Tomorrow," I said quietly.
"TOMORROW?! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?" Okay, chill out Reece, it's not that big of a deal.
"It's not important Reece, honestly," I put my hand on his shoulder, to try and comfort him. But I couldn't ignore the stupid cliché sparks that flew up through my hand with the feeling of his bare shoulder.
"Guys, it's pretty cold just standing in the water with no shirt on, ya know?" His brother chimed in, looking a bit blue. An evil, unattractive smirk began to grow on my face. I turned around and began to splash him some more. At first he seemed shocked, but soon started splashing back while laughing, after awhile Reece joined in too.
"My clothes are soaked," I said while lying on the cold grass.
"Here, put that on over yourself and take off the damp clothes." He gave me his plain black hoody he was wearing.
"Ahm Reece?" This was going to be so awkward.
"Mmm?"
"I can't, um, c-change my pants on m-my own, because it's t-to wet," I stammered, blushing furiously. What surprised me though, was their was no smirk, no amusement or teasing in his eyes, he looked genuine.
"No problem River," he said, smiling genuinely. "Oi, Junior, turn around," I don't think Junior had to be told, because he was already turned around.
"I promise you Reece, any funny business I will cut off your-."
"Jeez River, chill," probably better I didn't finish that sentence.
Reece slowly lifted my top over my head, my back facing him. Then he came around, and unbuttoned my jeans. I probably could have done that myself. After unbuttoning them, he unzipped them and slowly pushed them down my legs. He brought his eyes up to meet mine, to show he wasn't looking anywhere suspicious. So now I was here, in just my bra and panties. My spongebob bra, and squid ward panties. Hot River, very attractive. I felt the heat creep up my neck, causing my face to turn a unusual shade of red. I looked down, ashamed and embarrassed.
"You're beautiful," I felt his breath in my ear, and his tiny bit of stubble on my cheek. I blushed even harder at the close contact.
"Can I turn around now?" His brother asked, patience obviously isn't his thing.
"NO!" Both myself and Reece screamed at the same time.
After he finally got the hoody on, he lifted me back up on to the black horse I was riding. I couldn't wait to get into nice warm clothes when back.

"So did ye have fun?" His grandma asked. We were sitting around the dinner table, eating a delicious stew his mum cooked.
"Yeah River enjoyed it." Junior said, smiling. I was now in a pair of sweats, with Reece's hoody still on. Hey, it was really warm.
"That's good hunny, I hope you're enjoying your stay here River," his mum said smiling.
"I'm loving it. Thank you so much for having me," I said, smiling widely at her. I picked up a plastic spoon I brought for Sandy, and began to feed her.
"You're a pleasure to have. How do you and Reece know each other?" She asked, looking from me, and then to Reece.
"Reece went to my high school, were old friend." Lie. How could you lie to these people River? Shame on you. "I'm sorry, I can't lie, we had a one night stand and now were sharing an apartment because his got flooded, but were friends now," I blurted all out at once. Everyone, including Reece was staring at me in disbelief.
"That's okay sweetie, I'm amazed he held on to you," what was that suppose to mean? "He never holds onto girls, but then again, you are beautiful." Yeah, nice save. His granddad has been incredibly sick recently, so he's bedridden for the time been. I haven't really interacted with him much, so I don't really know him.
"What can I say? Rivers special." This even caused my mouth to drop. He may have meant it sarcastically, but he still said it.
He thinks I'm special.
