Xavier immediately snapped his head at Eugene who immediately shut up. He then called out the waitress who was Fiona, asking to get a beer and sensing the girl might recognize him, Eugene acted on his scared impulses and jumped underneath his table.
Xavier felt confused by Eugene’s behavior and craned his neck downwards, looking at his friend, who definitely acted scared for his life.
He then looked up at the waitress, who placed a bottle of beer on the table and his memory instantly clicked, remembering that she was the same waitress with whom Eugene had made out the night before the spring break was over Eugene’s little trick of hiding from Fiona showed that he did not call the girl back or came to see her again, just like he always did, after sleeping around with girls.
