CHAPTER 17 Kennedy wasn’t sure why she’d torture herself. The more of Ian’s letters she read, the more certain she was that he was telling her goodbye. How could God be so unfair? Why would he allow Ian to go through so much horror? If anything, it should have been Kennedy left to suffer in jail. Isn’t that how all the martyr stories turned out?
