CHAPTER 3 (The Manufacturers)

2456 Words
An unexpected emergency meeting cut short Daniel's plans for a good night's sleep just as he was getting comfortable to fall asleep. Because their commander is very severe with regard to time, and because he does not want to be given words because of his tardiness—he does not have the right to accept a refusal to not go because of his poor excuse. Therefore, he had himself get dressed and travel to the office as soon as possible. He didn't have time to take another shower, so he just got dressed in his freshly washed jeans and shirt, put on his black leather jacket, and left his room after locking it. He simply does not want to be reckless most of the time. He observes a large number of individuals who are engaged in business, perhaps because of tonight's celebration. The office was on the third floor, and he could see others walking in the same direction, which prompted him to proceed quickly. He could almost see the office, so he made a short sprint and opened the door for him to enter. He then discovered that the room was quite full, but the commander was not yet present, which was a comfort. Daniel seated himself at the rear, where he could see empty chairs, despite the fact that he was always sitting in the front because he was one of the room's most skilled soldiers. Daniel, however, was modest and simply doing what was required of him, so it did not matter where he sat. As soon as he settles into his seat, which was located in the back, he observes a guy who is staring at his tablet and tapping on several tabs that he doesn't recognize. As he stares at it, he becomes dizzy, so he recognizes him as a tech-savvy man wearing spectacles. If he was not mistaken, his name was Souske, and he was a Japanese guy. He had heard of him from somewhere, and he was the most insightful person in the room. Souske notices his stare and nods shyly, then adjusts his eyeglasses. “Can I?" he inquired whether or not it would be possible for me to sit next to him, and he confirmed by nodding his head. "Yes, sure," he replied, and Daniel smiled and sat down before the commander entered. When the room was nearly full, they waited for their commander to appear, and it was only a matter of minutes before the door opened and they noticed that even the President of the space station was behind him, and they all fell silent as they took their stand and addressed him with their salutation, to which he gestured them to take their own seats. There, Daniel realized that he was in an urgent and important meeting, and he sensed that something was going on. Because, in addition to President Emmanuel, there are Presidents of each of the countries that have taken their seats. Souske murmured under his breath, "I got the feeling that something wasn't right," and Daniel nodded in agreement. Daniel turned his head in his way and approached him to introduce himself. "My name is Daniel," he introduces himself while extending his hand for a handshake, which the other person eagerly accepts and shakes. "I know you're well-known, and my name is Souske," he said, unconcerned about his first words. After exchanging names, they listened to what their commander had to say. "We made the decision tonight that four of the soldiers—four of you will be landing back on Earth," he announced, and everyone inside was shocked to learn that the area was now overrun by zombies, and not just the typical zombies seen in movies, but something more. In the past few months, they have discovered an unusual zombie underground, which they have dubbed an elite zombie. All the individuals inside the station are aware of this, but some do not care because they are already in a safe location and are no longer concerned about the earth. A few scientists announced that they are unsure whether the space they are in now will last as long as the Earth, because they have detected something in space, but they are certain that it will not harm them for the time being. That is when the officials had the idea of collecting a specimen of the elite zombies and bringing it back to the station to see if they could ever mutate it into themselves and use it to wipe out the zombies and reclaim the earth. "We know it's a big announcement, and we're all aware of what's going on down there, which is why we're only sending four soldiers, but we're going to send the most skilled one, and the others will be trained in here for the next batch in case anything goes wrong." Daniel took a quick glance in the direction of the other world leaders who were seated. Everyone appeared to be taking the situation very seriously, and no one made any attempt to get up from their seats or complain. This was because they were all aware of the reason why they had become soldiers in the first place; they were there to protect the world and ensure that nothing bad would ever happen again. They have vowed to serve the people with their lives and have sworn to go to any lengths necessary to be of assistance to them. Even though it had been three years, everything that they had been through in the past was still very much present in their thoughts and feelings. "The elite zombie with this fire skin, or what we call Fiery Skin, is in Asia, in Singapore. That is the goal of the four soldiers who will be sent. We have already chosen them, and now you are all here to be aware of what is going on, and I want all of you to be trained with all of the weapons that we will show you, and all of this will be implemented for your training. Everyone should have good stamina and not rely solely on the serum that will be prescribed to everyone." The serum's name was Necrosis, and it was discovered that zombies were the source of its origin. However, because of Japan's advanced technological capabilities, the country was able to produce the serum even after all of its equipment was destroyed. It had taken a year for it to finally achieve its goal of becoming faultless. It was used to examine the specimen of a zombie that they had planned from the beginning—they had a zombie with them as they took their escape away from the earth for a purpose, and they had successfully made a perfect serum that would mutate a human into being one of a zombie but not into being one but just like a zombie's skills of not feeling tired, not feeling deprived, and having stamina that would last a long time, and most importantly, they can live for a long time but not an immortal one. The zombies that lived on that continent were distinct from those found elsewhere in that they did not experience feelings of hunger. Instead, the only thing that these zombies did was drink the blood of humans, and once a person was bitten by one of these zombies or had their blood consumed—they were transformed into one of them. They are drawn to light, and once they are attracted to it, they move with the speed of lightning. However, when it gets dark, it gives the impression that they are blind in the dark. They came to the conclusion that the only way for the four soldiers to successfully complete their job was for them to conceal themselves in the shadows and look for the armored vehicle that was buried deep below in Singapore but had a very secure lock on it. Each of the Presidents has their very own version of that vehicle, which has been stashed away and is only brought out in an actual crisis. When they have that, they will have a safe place to stay because they intend to remain there until they have eliminated the elite zombie. "We refer to this endeavor as Project SSS, which is an acronym that stands for Search, Slaughter, and Secure. Before we get into the four chosen men here, we are going to mention several manufacturers and their weapons that you will all encounter one of these days," he added, before the lights went out and the virtual screens showed what was going on. Daniel couldn't help but feel uneasy in his seat, and it appears that Souske is feeling the same way, prompting him to look at him. "Are you feeling fine?" he asked, prompting Daniel to turn his gaze to him and simply nod his head, but Souske didn't appear to believe his answer based on his actions. "I'm feeling a little off, like something's going to happen," he says, and Souske nods in agreement. Daniel acknowledges that he is a cool guy, but everyone thinks of him as a nerd, which he may be, but he is not acting like one. He shuts off his iPad and fixes his spectacles once again. He believes that he is fun to spend time with. "Me too," he muttered under his breath as he and the other person continued to focus their attention on the presenter in the front. The names of all of the weapon manufacturers that they are going to utilize were spelled out in the words that appeared on the screen. "These are the manufacturers who have come up with these incredible ideas in the creation of weapons, and now we will test them all, and we should honor them. First, the AFG, or Armed Forces Guns, and thankfully, three of the people who created these weapons survived and are still working in their station that we built just for them. Since the day of the zombie invasion, they have been working on developing a weapon that can annihilate a zombie with a single bullet. They are now used as practice weapons for new recruits who want to enlist as soldiers, and I believe you have all already encountered that type of weapon, which is called the RG or Rotating Gun," he stated, displaying the gun on the screen in 6D to show every detail of the equipment. "Second, the XZA or Xtreme Zombie Annihilator. Just last year, those people who requested that they be built in such a small space came up with the idea of creating a weapon mixed with lutetium and iron components for lethal results and carbon nanotube fibers for mobility and protection.Third, one of those advanced weaponry in Germany, that a human civilization created their projectile speed of the bullet which is fast that it could travel up to 175,000 meters per second for a 137mm mixed of solid polonium and Mercury Rounds beating the record of speed of sound waves which could also beat the speed of light. They developed a weapon that does not use bullets, instead harnessing the power of plasma to create energy bullets. But this one was banned, and they ended up selling it on the black market, but it appears that we will use it," he continues as he keeps on turning to the next image. President Emmanuel glanced at President Franc of Singapore as he rose from his seat in preparation for him to take the platform and describe the other weaponry. Daniel, on the other hand, is familiar with him because he was his President. President Franc looked around the room blankly and clicked the small remote he was holding to turn to the next page. "The Feather Manufacturers created armors and weapons that were so light that their heavy machine guns weighed only 3.6 kilograms. Because of its light weight and resistance to thermal and toxic components, soldiers dubbed their armor as Lithium Armor. This is ideal for those who have experience with heavy armor. Next is the Achlys, which is inspired by a psychopath who killed innocent people in various ways using poison and acid components. The LMC-22 Biochemical Corrosive Rounds cause a pile of acidic compounds after being fired at the enemy. Isn't it crucial? But that psychopath has survived and is now living here, but he is well cared for," he stated as he managed to keep an eye on the people in front of him before his gaze was drawn to Daniel. Daniel wasn't sure if it was just him who assumed he had looked in his way, but he could be wrong. "On the following page is the Ashen Taipan, the only manufacturer that creates weapons that are a mix of World War 1 and 2 weapons and the modern arsenal, but they also created the heaviest weapon due to its enormous size but considered savagely powerful in the right hands, weapons with neutron star plasma rounds, and makers of mixed assault rifle and heavy machine gun weaponry. We have a lot of these remarkable weapons, but what we need here are soldiers who can handle them because life is no longer a joke now that there are at least one million of us. The next company is Blaine Industries, whose founder, Luke Blaine, developed weapons and armor for various conditions, as well as specialized armor that automatically create space when charging zombie hordes by releasing spikes and sharp blades from helmets, body armor, gloves, armor pants, and even boots," he continues all of the people inside was amazed because of the images and samples that was shown in from of them. President Franc clicks the remote again. "The next two pages will be the last for now because the others will be shown and will be used in practice tomorrow. Panzerschreck Technologies, which is the only manufacturer that created rocket launchers and explosives, inspired by the name itself from Germany, creating a shotgun sized weapon that fires that will turn enemies into cones of flames, ultra hot large plasma bolts, suppressive firepower of a machine gun with the shattering blasts of a rocket launcher, turns the solider into a one man apache helicopter. The last page is the Spartan's Weapon, Spear Armaments, which only creates deadly sniper rifles that can pierce multiple enemies at a long distance with tungsten jacketed osmium rounds," he concluded his presentation as the screen went dark and the lights came back on. President Franc smiled as he averted his gaze from Daniel, but Daniel was unaware. "These weapons will soon see you, and I am honored to call you."
