Alexander looked at me with a million dollar smile as he held out his hand for me to shake.
I raised an eyebrow and glanced at his hand. Staring at it for a moment before I looked back up at him.
"Mr Celeste. Do you realize what you are accusing me of?" I bit out as I let out a fake gasp.
Alexander saw right through my act and now it was his turn to raise an eyebrow. A small sexy smirk appeared on his lips.
"As a matter of fact," he said with a pause, "I do. You can cut the act, we're on the same team."
My eyebrows shot up at his choice of words. We're on the same team. Looks like I'm not the only one with a strong will to eliminate Marcus of his status.
"How do I know you're not working with him? I can't trust you," I said with narrowed eyes.
I knew he wasn't working with him. Everyone has made it clear Alexander and Marcus despise each other with a passion.
Though, his offer was tempting. With his status and connections surely I could take down Marcus?
But I entered this game of revenge alone. My plan from the beginning was to take my-oh so sweet revenge; alone. I was in for the long run and I was doing it solo.
"You can't trust me?" Alexander said in what I guessed as amusement. He loosened his tie and glanced around the street.
Taking a large stride forward, he stood tall, towering over me even though I was in heels.
"The fact that you just admitted to hating Marcus shows me you know I'm not working with him," he said in a low whisper, his face suddenly close to mine.
He had me there.
I opened my mouth to speak but suddenly my mouth felt dry. For a second I was startled by his enciting dark eyes that seemed to pull me in. His gaze never left mine and I felt like I was rooted to my spot.
Clearing my throat I broke his gaze and looked down, taking a small step back.
"Well Mr Celeste, I don't think-"
"Call me Alexander."
I looked at him for a second before nodding my head and clearing my throat once more.
"Right. Alexander. With all due respect, I appreciate this but im going solo. I'd be really happy if you would forget about this little.." I trailed off trying to find the right word.
Conversation? Run in? Chat?
"Encounter?" Alexander suggested with a grin.
I didn't smile back. Making friends wasn't exactly in my top priorities.
After a long pause of complete and utter silence, Alexander let out a sigh and broke eye contact.
"Your name was?" He asked as his dark yet intriguing eyes found mine once again.
"Victoria," I said in a clipped tone.
When nothing else was said I turned around to leave. My long silk dress lightly grazed the floor as the slight breeze made my hair slightly brush against my face. After a few steps Alexanders voice made me stop.
"You and I will make him pay, don't you worry," I heard Alexander call out.
Rolling my eyes I spun around feeling annoyed.
"Do you not get a hint? I told you-" I abruptly stopped.
The curb Alexander was standing near, was now empty. Glancing around I saw no signs of life.
Sneaky.
With a huff I spun around and made my way towards the main street. My heels clicked onto the pavement as I wrapped my arms around me looking for a cab, purse tight in hand.
Why, oh why did you not bring your car Victoria? I mentally scowled at myself.
The streets were dead and very little cars skimmed pass as I waiting for a cab.
Seeing a cab, I stepped onto the side of the road and lifted up a hand and slightly waved.
The cab opened its indicators, signaling left as it slowed to a steady pace and stopped in front of me.
I opened the back door and carefully slid in. Immediately the smell of urine and cigarettes hit me like a slap in the face.
"Where to sweetcheeks?" the older man asked as he glanced at me through the review mirror.
I shut the door behind me and grimaced at the scrawny seats.
"Just leave me on Avenue street," I said simply as the man nodded his head and turned the car which jumped as it hopped of the side walk.
Only a mere few seconds into the car ride, the man rolled down his window and shoved a cigarette into his mouth and lit it up.
The smell drifted to the backseats and I felt my eyes water up.
"You have money right?" the man asked as his voice came out a little muffled due to the smoke sticking out of his mouth.
"If you're implying I'm a cheap hooker, no I'm not. Yes I have money," I said calmly as I glanced at the man through the review mirror.
"Thought so. That dress must've cost atleast two grand," he grunted as he eyed me up from the mirror.
"How much do I pay you?" I chose to ignore his comment.
Again Victoria. Tell me. Why did you not bring your car again?
Oh thats right. You're an i***t.
"Just give me a ten dollar note and that'll be fine."
For some reason I was certain it didn't cost anywhere near ten dollars. Though I couldn't complain since ten dollars wouldn't make me any less richer.
Opening up my purse, I opened the zip and reached in to grab a note.
I frowned when my hand met with nothing.
Great. I had cards that contained millions of dollars, but no cash money.
Great. Just great.
"Is there a possible chance that you allow credit cards? You know, debit, visa?" I asked sheepishly as I lifted up a stack of credit cards which he glanced out through the review mirror.
Narrowing his eyes, he slammed onto the brakes and stopped the car. Undoing his seatbelt, the man spun around in his seat and glared at me.
"Does this look like a f*****g prada mall to you?" the man hissed as his stinking breath washed over me.
I looked at him taken aback and put my cards back in my purse.
I guess that means no.
"You don't need to shout. I just don't have cash on me," I said equally mad.
I could have him unconscious in a second if I wanted to.
The man looked at me fuming. Seconds later he sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Fine. I'll just let you off with just one flash," he said looking at me expectantly.
I looked back at him confused for a moment. Then it dawned to me.
He wanted me to flash him.
Immediately I moved back, further into the ripped materials of the seat.
"What the hell do you think I am!" I yelled outraged.
"A female. Just show me what I want. Thats the only thing you women are good at." he snapped and I gasped.
You little bastard. I wouldn't be surprised if you were related to Marcus.
Leaning forward I pressed myself to the back of his seat and swung my arms around to grab his throat from behind as I pushed him into the seat.
My hands wrapped around his throat and I didn't hesitate to squeeze tightly.
"Oh yeah?" I said with a large grin. My inner Samantha was telling me to stop, but my inner Victoria was yelling at me to continue.
"You have no idea what I'm capable of. I could tear your arm apart and feed it to you without flinching," I whispered furiously.
The man gasped for air and clawed at me but I wasn't having it.
I felt the fury in my veins I had felt when Marcus, Max and Catelyn killed my parents. The fury I felt when they got away with it.
Suddenly, the door from beside me was swung open and arms wrapped around my waist peeling me off of the man.
"Okay that's enough Victoria," said a familiar voice.
I was pushed out onto the pavement and arms were securely wrapped around my waist.
The cab driver looked at me in horror through the mirror and stepped on the gas as he sped away, the backdoor still open.
Turning around I gasped.
"Alexander what the hell are you doing here!" I screeched.
"Besides the fact of stopping you from murdering someone?" Alexander shouted sarcastically into the crisp air.
His usual grin wasn't there, but in its place was a frown.
"How did you know I was in there," I asked as I angled myself away from him, my fury dying down.
"I saw you get into a cab. Which is pretty stupid in a town like this. Especially if you're stinking rich," Alexander said.
His professional manner was gone and so was mine. I felt raw without my calm and business like demeanor.
"I was driving behind the cab and for some odd reason, it stops. You didn't get out and I thought you were getting murdered, " Alexander told me with a frown.
But suddenly he grinned looking smug.
"Turns out you were doing the murdering."
I haven't known him for an hour and already he was getting under my skin.
"Alright you caught me. Fine. What do you want me to say? Thanks for stopping me from murdering someone?" I asked with a grim expression.
"I'm here for a purpose and one purpose only. To get my revenge. I've wrecked my facade more than once speaking with you and thats very bad," I scowled at him.
"I need to be professional and get Marcus to trust me. You were right. Now can you leave me alone?" I finished in an irritated tone.
I expected Alexander to tell me I was crazy or simply walk away but he just grinned.
"Are you done?" he asked and I gave him a look of disbelief.
"Look. You and I are the same. I want Marcus to suffer and so do you. There's nothing more to it," he said slowly and I nodded.
"With my brains and your feistiness we can plan something," Alexander stated with an easy smile.
"My debt isn't just with Marcus," I added flatly.
"I'm willing to help. Are you in or not?" he said holding my eyes captive.
No! Definitely Not! You didn't train yourself all these years to play partner in crime with some big shot!
"Just give me one chance," Alexander chimed in.
No. No way in hell. You've wrecked your cover twice around him!
Sighing I looked up at him.
"One chance. That's all you get."
