Love triangle

After Devon put his headband and wristband in his bag, hung it over his back, he shook some of his team mantes and walked away. He had come on a commercial bike. His car had developed a fault and was with the auto mechanic. He stood by the road, waitng for a bike-man while he bounced the ball within intervals. It was at that moment a car pulled up ahead of him. It reversed and he saw who she was. She gave him a smile. “Layla, what’s up?” “I’m cool. Just off training.” “Yeah. Where are you spinning from. Nice car you have got here.” “Thanks. I went to check on a friend of mine.” She replied. “Where are you heading to? Where is your car?” “With the car doctor. I think it got an auto typhoid fever. I am going home.” She chuckled. “Never head of that. Come in, let me give you a ride.” He opened the car door and slid in, and put the bag and ball on his laps. She picked the ball and threw it on the backseat and did the same with the bag. “Feel at car.” She said. He raised his eyebrows. “Whoa! Another version of feel at home.” They giggled. “Where exactly do you stay?” “It is just about five kilometers from here. You don’t have to take me home. You can just drop me off by the junction where I will get a bike.” “Don’t worry about that. I stay just a kilometer from here.” She said. “State Lodge.” “That is a cool place for a big girl like you.” “Don’t flatter me, dude.” “So how is…..damn! okay, Bally?” “Ohhhh! Wait, you are always asking after him each time you see him. Do you think we are that close?” “I assume so.” “That is the impression he gives. He is just an acquaintance though he thinks we are going out.” “He thinks?” He giggled. “ That you because you make him feel so.” “Okay, my fault. He has been so nagging and  I kind of feel sorry for him. I let him hang out with me but …..it is not what you think.” “Damn! When I find out a girl just hangs with me simply besaise she feels sorry for me…..I am off.” She did not like this topic. She hated it when he talked about Bally. She wanted him and no one else. “If you don’t mind, I would like to call at my house and pick something before I drop you.” “Hmmmmm…” he hesitated. “Please. I will call Zina if you wish.” He smiled. She saw the glitter in his eyes at the mention of the name and it hurt her. “Okay, let’s go’ he said but did not feel comfortable with that. He also felt very uncomfortable because he needed a wash. His body was clammy with sweat. He was also famished. He just wanted to go home but like she said, they won’t stay long in her house. She gave him a smile. She was going to show Zina what she was made of. She may lose him today and he would be hers forever. She turned the car and headed to her house.    ********   Layla brought the car to an abrupt stop before her rented Lodge. It was a beautiful two bedroom bungalow. The environment was serene and cool. “Come in.” She said as she opened the car door. They alighted and she locked the car doors. She led him into her living room. These girls made a lot of money from their deal and they were living a luxurious life.  “Please sit down.” “Thank you, Nice place.” “Thanks.” She went into her bedroom. Devon relaxed on the sofa. He was tired and felt like having a good rst after the birth. He had not smoked for three days. It was  not easy but Zina kept him strong. Addiction was a menace. But deep inside, he felt more healthy and happier. Layla appeared. “Zina just called. I told her you are here. She wants to come here.” “I think I should call her and tell her to meet me in my house instead.” He said. “I stink and can’t wait to have a wash.” “That is no big deal. You can do that here.” Devon remembered that he and Zina had agreed to reduce been in seclusion, especially in his house where they were prone to cuddling and other things. Maybe it was better they stayed here. “You mean I wash up here?” “You better do that before she comes.” He chuckled. “Okay, then.” She went and prepared warm soapy water for him in the sink. He noticed her unusual hospitality but did not suspect anything. Zina was on her way after all. “Come, let me show the bathroom.” “Thanks.” She led him to the bathroom, walking ahead of him. She was wearing a tight jeans and he quickly took his eyes off her vibrating fannies. He was just stepping out of his former life and this was not a good sight for him. He spent fifteen minutes in there and he enjoyed the bath. He did not know if Zina would feel comfortable with this. Hope he was not making a mistake? He dried his body and came out. “I have cream on the dressing mirror. It is not a bleaching cream.” He smiled. “I think I am good. I have an oily body. Creams make me feel hot sometimes.” “But you can’t wear back those sportswear.” She said. “I have unisex T-shirt.” “No, thanks. I will manage this until I get back home.” He went back to the living room, feeling much better and waiting eagerly for Zina. He met her sitting seductively on a sofa, while she used the remote control to put on  the CD player. She began to play Celine Dion’s songs. “Done?” “Yeah. It is cool to have bath. That is my best moment every week.” “Every week?” “Yeah. I mean every week I take bath.” “What about the daily bath you have?” “Daily? No, I take birth once a week. Have you not heard save water-save lives ideaology? I am trying to help humanity plus, taking bath everyday sucks.” She now understood that he was joking. She laughed. “Okay, I think I need one too. I will not have again until next week.” “Good. Choose a day. I chose Fridays.” “I will choose Sartudays then.” They both giggled. She got up and left. He tried Zina’s number but it was unreachable. Why was it taking her so long to come. He wanted to see her, talk to her and have her company. He just could not wait to have this camping over and start making moves towards marriage. But Layla said she only wanted to pick something. Did she change her mind because Zina said she was coming? Layla was done with her bath, dressed up and came into the living room. Immediately she appeared, Devon felt a drum in his heart. What was she doing? What was wrong with her? She had a full make-up on her face; her hair was oiled up and sprawled. She was dressed in a white crop top which showed her turgid bosom. The leggings she wore was almost transparent as he could tell the color of G-string she wore. “Can you put the TV on, please?” He said out of confusion. He wanted something to divert his attention. He started thinking about Zina, imagining her. He tried to remind himself that Zina was more voluptuous, pretty and most importantly, the one he loved. She put on the TV and she heard the sound of car outside. Who was that? It took no ling before she heard a knock. She went and opened the door and saw Bally standing before the door, wearing NYSC T-shirt. “Whoaa! You look sweet.” He said, frisking her body with his eyes. “Thank you.” She said. “How are you?” “Better that I saw you. I was missing you dear.” “Thank you.” She said cursing beneath her breath. “What’s up?” “Cool. Where is Zina? I have not seen you guys together lately. Baby, you are standing by the door way. Won’t you let me in?” “Zina is on her way here right now.” She reluctantly moved aside and he came in. As she walked in, he stared after her hungrily. It was then he saw Devon sitting on the sofa. Was that why she said Zina was on her way. He wished she would come so she and  Devon could leave. He wanted to be with Layla alone today. She just looked too irresistible for him. “Hey, Devon, what’s up?” “My Gee, I am cool. How are you doing?” Layla left them in a conversation and went into her room and sat on the bed and buried her face in her palms. Why did Bally have to come at this time. He was a nuisance. Zina might call Devon at any moment and she would know she was lying. Both of them did not tell anyone about their rift. If she lost this chance, then she would never get him again. Layla why? She asked herself. Why do you have to go through all these to get a man? You are pretty, you have money, you have all it takes to have a man. Bally is a man a girl would be proud to have. Why? Devon does not even know you love him. His heart is after Zina. Just let him go. You have Bally. No. Another mind told her. He does not know because Zina stole him from you. You were the first to fall in love with and the b***h knew about it. You deserve him more and it not just about any man but the man your heart is after and that is Devon. Get your man! Don’t let her beat you to it.
