Chapter Fourteen
“Look up, Kenji-chan.”
Kenji stared at Mina. “I still can’t believe it. I have a sister. A beautiful sister.
She smiled. “I’m happy to see you too,” she said softly. “Now, please look up.”
He obeyed and Mina pointed a small light into his good eye. He struggled not to blink. Bad enough he’d caused such a commotion in the middle of the night. If he’d understood what was happening and that Fallon was sleeping nearby, he might have waited. As it was he’d disturbed a temple full of priests, a clinic full of doctors and Fallon, his constant companion and bodyguard, who had been getting much-needed rest when he’d all but carried Kenji here to the hospital.
The other man remained nearby through Mina’s examination, hovering worriedly.
