Chapter Eleven
“Kenji never mentioned he had a sister.” Fallon addressed Mina from behind the privacy curtain of animal skins hung by his sleeping pallet. He’d given himself a quick wash with a rag and a small bucket of water Tinle had provided for him from melted ice and now dressed.
“He never mentioned me probably because he feels so painfully guilty toward me.”
He closed a belt over the thick woolen sweaters Mina had left on his pallet then stepped to the other side of the curtain to face her, one eyebrow quirked. “Guilty? Why?”
“Because of what happened before the memory chip was implanted.” Mina frowned and her eyes clouded in the same way Kenji’s did in certain moments. “I was very opposed to the idea of erasing Kenji’s memory. When I argued vehemently against the operation to
