The first thing Ray ever said to Lisa was, “So you’re the girl Nick’s been talking about nonstop. Damn, I wish I had met you first.” So of course she liked him for that.
Ray met Nick at the first model shoot the two ever did. Nick had been a handsome seventeen year old who looked older, so he lied about his age to get the job.
