Chapter 4 Within minutes of entering the orphan sanctuary, Nick realized this was an entirely different world from that of the village he’d grown up in and Todd had taken him from. He and Todd had been bound as children, neither really having a choice in the matter. The people here weren’t bound to anyone, not anymore. No one was forced into any sort of life. The dorms were bright, cheerful, and comfortable. There was a central common lounge area for socializing, and from what Nick saw, the socializing was heavily encouraged.
