Ian was waiting in his room, more like pacing from one end to the other for the omega. He couldn’t believe that she was real. The moment his eyes landed on her, he felt that ache in his chest, something he couldn’t put in words. It was so strange because he never felt like that before. What was that feeling? Seeing her tied up, so helpless made his gut twist, and the Alpha wanted to tear through that cuffs, free her delicate skin from marring.
The Alpha angrily tugged at his hair. What was wrong with him? He should not be thinking those things about some helpless omega. She was never going to entertain someone like him. He knew that very well. It was hopeless to expect anything from that omega.
Ian will only complicate things for both of them. It was better if he acted as civil as possible. He still couldn’t figure out how his men, skilled and educated as they are mistaken an omega. They were all-powerful, trained wolves who can easily track down an omega.
That thing has been nagging him ever since Jared informed about the wrong omega. He didn’t even know her name for moon's sake! And he’s attracted to her. So ridiculous.
Ian stared at the door once again. It’s been more than fifteen minutes since he asked the omega to be sent in his room. What were his men doing? Since when do they not listen to him?
“That’s it!” He muttered, storming out of his room. As he took a sharp turn, he smelled the gunpowder contaminated with silver followed by the shattering sound of the gun go off. The Alpha instantly took hiding, his hand going towards his back pocket.
“f**k!” He cursed under his breath when he realised that he was not in his suit pants. The gun was in his study.
“Alpha! Are you okay?” Albert, one of his men, came rushing to him. He exhaled a breath, pointing him towards the bushes. The Alpha could see a faint stiletto of the person, but their scent was hidden.
“He's behind bushes. Move!” Ian whispered, narrowing his eyes towards the bushes. He could see the gun being lifted again and aimed in his direction to which he swiftly ducked down.
Albert fired his gun, rushing towards the bushes. Few more of his men emerged out, obviously triggered by the sound of the bullet. They all ran towards the bushes while Ian stayed back.
The sound of footsteps echoed around the hallway, and the Alpha followed the scent of gun powder. He had another route from behind just for the sake of people like those who cowardly attack in the middle of the night.
Ian made sure not to make any sound, his breath controlled as he followed the overpowering scent. The minute he stepped near the pillars, it disappeared. He frowned, taking a step back and trying to sniff at the posts but there was no trace left.
How is that possible? He thought to himself.
The Alpha stood there for a few minutes, inspecting the surface and trying to get any scent. He heard footsteps approaching him.
“Boss” Albert breathed, a sheen of sweat covering his face.
“Where is he?”
Nile, another of his men, build like a rock shook his head, “Sorry Alpha he escaped”
Ian flared his nose at that. He tightened his jaw; his fingers curled at their shame-filled faces. It was one wolf! How can they let him escape?
“He was behind bushes and carrying a gun! How did you not get his scent?”
“Boss we followed him till this wall...” Nile pointed at the pillar, the exact one where Ian lost the scent. “...And then the scent disappeared. We tried to search everywhere, but he was gone, Alpha.”
Ian breathed noisily. Something was definitely wrong. There was no use of screaming on them for something they had no control over. He should’ve known. These attackers were getting clever and precise with each of their attacks.
“It’s alright. I’m sure that he is going to try something again.”
“We will be fully prepared for that, Alpha” Albert cleared his throat.
Ian nodded his head before disappearing into his room. He had a long day.

The next morning they were all gathered in his office for breakfast. He was trying to read on his iPad, but the discussion about the wrong omega seemed essential to everyone. Mona couldn’t stop moaning about how she was speechless and felt dumb because of that omega. Jared and Alan were the same. They pitched in the middle of her tragedy, the three of them going back and forth.
Ian was very interested, to say the least.
“She’s very demanding. I still cannot believe I managed to run away so easily” Mona sighed.
“Isn’t she tied to the bed?” Ian asked in an amused tone, taking a sip of his coffee.
“And? She’s still terrifying.”
“Think we could ransom her?" Alan asked, his brows pulled together.
“Mmh...but we don't know anything about her. There has to be a reason that no one's come for her yet.” Ian leaned back, his lips twisting.
His beta made a sound of agreement. “Well. there's one way to find out.”
“I'm not talking with her!” Alan raised his hand before anyone could say anything. Ian shook his head. How did one defenceless omega create terror in full-grown combat skills equipped betas? That's one question he'll never know the answer to.
“I'll do it,” Ian muttered, standing up. He's not doing it to see the omega and have the chance to talk to her. Not at all.

Ian softly opened the metal door, holding his breath in as he entered inside. His eyes immediately fell on the omega sitting by the bed.
She sneered in his direction, mumbling around the gag, trying to speak clearly. Ian narrowed his eyes at the omega, trying to wriggle and break free as if that was possible. As he tried to inch near her, she flashed her eyes at him.
"I'm the owner of this hotel" Ian calmly informed, watching her go still. She blinked her eyes at him. He continued, "I'm the one who decides what happens to you."
There was some more incorrigible mumbling, but he did not have time for that. Ian closed the distance between them, sitting on his hunches in front of her. Now that he was close, he could see her more clearly.
"I'm going to remove the gag," he said, letting his fingers brush against her soft skin. He tried not to let that affect him. Keyword tried.
"You'd be smart not to bite."
With that, Ian carefully removed the spit-soaked gag out of her mouth, easing it past his lips. The sight of her swollen glistening lips did something to his c**k.
The omega blinked slowly, raising her head at him. Anger took over her features.
"I'm going to kill you."
Ian would be taken aback if he wasn't expecting it.
The Alpha got death threats every single day. He was used to them. If the omega thought she was doing something, then she was sorely mistaken.
As he inched closer to her, she started screaming. The scream was so loud and high pitched that it made him take a step back. His ears rang at the sound, but she didn’t stop. Ian’s inner alpha was conflicted at that, almost wanting to hold her until she’s calm and quiet.
Before Ian could take another step in her direction, the door burst open. Jared stepped in, a gun secured in his hand, in full defensive mode. He peeped in and roamed his eyes everywhere before turning his attention to Ian.
“Did you do something?”
“No! I am standing inches away from her” The Alpha sighed, pointedly staring at the omega.
She was shaking slightly; her lithe body curled up together as she turned towards the wall. There was no denying that he could see the somewhat wet sheen of her eyes, her lips folded together.
“I will handle her” Ian abruptly said, not taking his eyes off of her.
Jared hesitated for few seconds before he walked away, leaving them all alone.
“No one’s going to harm you,” Ian cleared his throat, taking a few steps in her direction. The Alpha released his pheromones to calm her down. Fortunately, it worked, and she did not scream.
“Not if they know what’s good for them” She sniffed as if she hadn’t been screaming five seconds ago, still looking at the wall.
“You’re an alpha,” The omega said, looking over her shoulder.
“What are you trying to say, omega?” He crossed his arms, raising his brow in her direction. It was frustrating him that he couldn’t smell her properly. His nose was still evaded with that pungent scent of the drug from her body.
“Don’t make me say it.”
Ian gritted his teeth, “Not every Alpha thinks the same.”
“Great then let me go, then, if you’re such a different Alpha”, She met his eyes, pinning him with an expectant look.
Ian resisted the urge to sigh and instead walked out of the room. Everyone was right about her. She had the talent to render others speechless.
