Railyn widened her eyes as his words sank in. They stung. She should have known better than to betray her Alpha. When Elio called her in the morning to get the file from Ian’s office, she should have convinced him harder, made up some excuse. Anything to prolong her stay. She would have explained her situation to Ian and maybe convince him somehow to hand her the papers. Seeing the betrayal and hurt written all over Ian’s face, she felt like dying.
