CHAPTER NINE Glancing around as Roth parked outside the Fairfield police precinct building, Stella was reminded again that this was a wealthy and upmarket part of the world. She thought the quaint, well-kept building, with its symmetrical frontage, Georgian architecture, and manicured planters outside, looked surprisingly pretty and welcoming. Inside was more traditional, with the impersonal bustle that she expected to see. A short line of people were waiting at the help desk.
