LEANDA
We gathered in the garden after dinner. Myself, Quinn, Demitri, Eternal, Forever, Evermore and Lestar (who had stopped in for a couple of nights on her travels).
"I woke tonight to several fire messages waiting for me. It seems Achille has been spotted, with a female Vampire, and human man. They are about three hundred miles from here. We have people trailing them, while we decide what to do." Quinn informed us all.
"We have heard nothing more of experiments or volunteers, kidnaps or labs. So the question is, do we believe he has stopped, or do we think he has just got better at hiding things? And whatever we think - do we leave him be, or go and see him?" I laid out.
"He has the money and intelligence to hide things," Eternal stated.
"And I doubt he'd give up without an answer, not from what I saw," added Demitri.
"Its not so much what he is trying to do, but who he is hurting to do it," Lestar commented. She was one of the Vampires we broke out of the lab, and was still struggling from months of no blood.
We discussed the options, and began to discuss strategy. However, as always, we ended at the decision of winging it! Myself, Quinn, Demitri and Eternal would leave tomorrow. We all went to pack and get ready.
Once myself and Quinn were alone, I decided it was time we had a talk about something I ha been putting off saying.
"Quinn darling," I began.
"What is it my love? You sound stressed," he asked.
"No, not stressed. I just wanted to talk to you about something. I have been thinking a lot about Achille and his research."
"What about it?" Quinn sounded annoyed.
"Well, I wanted to know your opinion..." I edged.
"My opinion on what exactly?" He said narrowing his eyes at me.
"Well if he succeeds, would it be something you would consider?"
"No." His answer was abrupt. He turned away from me and carried on packing.
I gave him a minute and then walked over and put my arms round his waist, cuddling into his back. "I am sorry if I upset you, I did not mean to".
"It's okay," he said sighing. He turned around in my arms to look at me. "It is just so unfair. It is not something I would want, or accept, or approve of. At the same time though, I feel its unfair for anyone else to live forever with their love, when we cannot"
"I understand. I feel the same, about the unfairness. But I hold less trust in fate than you and Demitri. I will stand by whatever decision you make, if the time comes" I smiled at him, and reached up to kiss his cheek.
"You think it could be possible then?" He was surprised.
"Yes, anything is possible, especially when the driving force is love."
He smiled and held me close, "not everyone's love is as pure as ours," he stated.
"And there was me thinking it was just about the s*x for you," I winked at him.
"Well that is a definite perk," he laughed, dragging me over to the bed.
