Chapter 34 - Registration

What does the real name question mean? Dan did not understand the question. He dared to say his game nickname. There are a great many players in this world with the name Daniel. "My name is Dan," the young man said. "Excellent! Let's write it down," the master quickly made a note on a piece of paper that was on the table. "What kind of work do you prefer to do. Are you a warrior? Are you a mage? Perhaps you wish to become a peaceful citizen and take up the secrets of the Craft?" "I am a warrior," Dan answered honestly and quickly. "Wonderful! Let's put it down that way," the old man cheered. He made a new note and asked a new question. "Young Dan, I ask you to continue to be clear and honest with me. Name the traits that reflect your character. I see that you are armed with a long sword but you have no shield. You don't have a bow on your shoulders. You are a warrior. Tell me, how do you prefer to fight?" Dan smiled and rubbed his chin. He felt that this was a very important moment in this game. This procedure was like choosing a character class. It is a very important and serious matter in any game! "I am an untrained warrior and I like melee combat with a sword in my hand. But I respect magic and I like to use magic to weaken my opponent. I am a novice warrior, and my sword skills are very poor. During battles, strange things sometimes happen to me. I lose control of myself and become more dangerous to an inexperienced opponent. But I can control this condition.  I like it, but I'm not ready to act like berserk all the time. Ouch. That's a word out of my world. Oops. I said too much," Dan was embarrassed. He thought he shouldn't tell the NPCs that people come from the true real world. The NPS might get angry if he knew that the world with the city of Grossroads was not called the real world, but a virtual world for the game of human wanderers. "Amazing sincerity! You are a true warrior young Den," Master Ronald took his time to make a new entry. He swung his pen and said solemnly. "I recommend your choice of three classes. Warrior. Swordsman. Bladespell." At that moment the system came to the player's aid. An explanation of the important question appeared before Dan's eyes.   [You are invited to determine your path of development. A warrior is a professional member of the Adventurer's Guild. A warrior is trained to wield a variety of weapons and wear a variety of armor to complete the quests of the Guild and the citizens of Grossroads. Warrior gives priority to the development of skills: medium armor, long blades. Warrior can learn a profession: blacksmith, alchemist. A swordsman is a professional member of the Adventurer's Guild. He dedicates himself to mastering the sword to complete the quests of the Guild and the citizens of Grossroads. The Swordsman gives priority to developing the skill: long blades. Swordsman can learn the profession: blacksmith, alchemist. Bladespell is a professional member of the Adventurers Guild.  Bladespell is an expert at reading spells, which serve to support in skirmishes and battles to complete the quests of the Guild and the citizens of Grossroads. Bladespell gives priority to skill development: medium armor, long blades, and support magic. Bladespell can learn the profession: blacksmith, alchemist, scribe scrolls. The choice is yours!]   Dan Raven thought he needed Tom's help. Such a matter cannot be decided without his advice. "Dear Master Ronald, may I go outside and ponder the choice for a while?" Raven asked the registrar. "A wonderful decision! You are a very interesting young man. Of course, you have the opportunity to take your time in making an important decision," smiled Master Ronald. Dan stepped out of the building and began walking leisurely along its wall. He was looking for a place where he could discreetly apply the Phantom skill. Eventually, Dan came up with a good solution. He lay down on the grass and activated the skill. "Interesting choice," came a voice from the side of the young man. Dan turned his head and saw the clone standing nearby. Tom sat down on the grass and pondered the difficult choice of the development path. For about a minute Tom was silent and carefully considered the situation related to the choice of the class of the character. The clone formed his opinion and immediately pleased his partner. "You made a mistake, but nothing terrible or irreparable happened. You were honest with Master Ronald. But you thought only of yourself. You forgot about me. You and I make a unique team. We are one, and I serve only your purposes. But think about the big question, Dan. Are we a team for what? What are our main goals in this game? Character development is the result of fighting monsters. But killing monsters is easy and you'll get a lot of experience with my help. We already got a big surprise from the Game. We are capable of destroying bosses! Dan, you have already realized that the boss is an opportunity to get a valuable artifact. And the destruction of the boss comes to the forefront of our joint activities. Unfortunately with our style of development, we are a more suitable class Assassin! An assassin always can strike first. In our case, fighting a boss is only 1 strike in 10 minutes of combat. I need to learn how to do maximum damage in 1 attack. I repeat that the warrior class is great. We will get our tedious and nasty hours of boss destruction. But we will have enjoyable and delightful hours destroying monsters in our favorite style. We are Swordsmen and we love it. The Bladespell and Warrior classes are incomplete. Each of these classes will teach a lot and a little bit of everything. You can spend your energy developing skills in many areas and not become an expert in one important direction. Swordsman is a focus and fighting style on weapon mastery. I'm sure we'll get great skills for damage enhancement. If we get the Invisibility skill or Powerful Disguise it will be great. We will be able to play away from prying eyes and eliminate bosses. Bosses are another level of the game. The winner of the bosses gets a reputation and rare cool trophies. Just the first two bosses have given us a month's worth of work to do! Get up and go to finish this registration. We need to find the Adventurer's Guild. And we need to deal with the matter of getting a profession as a blacksmith." Dan took his time getting up. He looked at his character panel and saw that the clone had managed to gain 1710 experience points in three hours. "Who were you fighting?" Raven looked at the clone with interest. "Eighteen monsters at the city walls," smiled the phantom. "Level 10 rabbits. Non-aggressive and stupid rabbits the size of small dogs. Handy opponents. Hard to miss. They are fast and not dangerous. 500 experience points to kill a rabbit. Trophies are standard. Meat and pelts for crafting. I looked around and studied the location. Spent a lot of time studying the local players. There are already a lot of players in Grossroads. And all the people are very aggressive and dangerous. Everyone enjoys killing these rabbits and is in no hurry to risk their lives. Rebirth doesn't save you from having to experience agonizing pain before you die. Even professional killers take the time to go through such abnormal experiences." Dan jumped up from the grass. "I want an opportunity for Rebirth! I'm going to go and finish this Registration." Old Ronald greeted the young warrior with a smile. It seemed to Dan that the old man saw right through him and knew all the young gamer's secrets. Dan was confident and he was in a hurry to finish this important but not pleasant procedure. "I've made my decision and chosen the Swordsman specialty." "Wonderful! We'll make a note of that," the old man made a note in the document. "Now it's time to decide on your Patron." Master Ronald was silent. He was curious about the young swordsman's reaction. But Dan acted unexpectedly. The young man showed no excitement or interest in this part of the procedure.  He already knew what he and the phantom needed most. Suddenly the old master waved his hand and the room went dark. Darkness concentrated under the ceiling of the room. Dan saw that in the blackness a multitude of multicolored lights glittered. These lights looked like colored stars in the night sky. The lights began to change the size and even move. The stars created constellations that turned into images of humanoid figures. They were men and women. And each figure represented power and might. Dan immediately paid attention to the images of the warriors and immediately saw the one he was looking for. One warrior was covered in blood. In the warrior's hand was a large sword. The martial artist had punctured and damaged armor on his body. The blond man's face expressed sternness but not rudeness. His blue eyes stared coldly and with unyielding confidence in his right to bring death to his enemies. "I see that you have made your choice. Ars the Battle Obsessed. This is your patron. And we'll make a note of it," the master said quietly. The room brightened and the figures of the Great Ones melted into the light of day. Old Ronald handed Dan a piece of paper on which his details were written. "Dan you must go to the Temple and be allowed to return to life. My old friend will escort you," the master nodded toward the soldier who kept the old man company. Den Raven took the document and did not hesitate to hide it in his inventory. He didn't care what impression he was making now. Raven felt something had happened to him. This celestial patron turned his attention to the man! Ars the Battle Obsessed. The definition captured the essence of this warrior well. Den realized that he could not escape the essence of the Berserk. But it was great! The concept of berserk had always included the obligatory infliction of great damage on enemies. And that point was all too important to Tom and Dan. The player's thoughts were interrupted by the old man's quiet voice. "Young Dan. Take the old master's advice. You need not make a close acquaintance with Princess Elina."
